| Many computer builders are particularly keen on the quad core processor types because of their ability to handle multiple applications at once with almost no lag time. Therefore, the Intel Core 2 Q9650 processor is particularly well suited for several memory-hungry programs. Professionals who commonly run a 3 GHz Quad-Core processor include engineers and designers working in complex programs, including the Adobe Suite, Sibelius 7, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Maya. Fast, flawless performance is a primary feature of the Intel Core 2 Q9650 processor. It also boasts a 12 MB L2 Cache and a 1333 MHz FSB speed far removed from its 1970s predecessors. The processor sports a 9 Bus/Core Ratio, a 64-bit instruction set and a 45 nm Lithography as well as a 95 W Max TDP. VID voltage ranges between 0.8500 and 1.3625 V, making the processor a particularly versatile component with different computer systems. The processor has a number of extra advantages over its competition. Not to be missed are the Intel Virtualization (VT-x), Virtualization Directed I/O (VT-d), and Trusted Execution Technologies. Intel 64, Idle States, and Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology kick this processor to the next level. Thermal Monitoring Technologies ensure that the processor remains stable even at high overclock speeds, porting heat away from the component via a cooling solution to maintain the processor at or below maximum operating temperature. The integrated Execute Disable Bit protects against malicious buffer overflow attacks, which are a serious concern for companies large and small. Buffer overflows increase demands on available IT resources and can lead to digital asset destruction if they are not stopped in a timely manner. The Execute Disable Bit can enable the creation of specific areas in the memory where application codes, such as those presented by a worm, can execute. By doing so, it can also disable the codes, stopping the worm’s path of destruction and keeping electronic assets safe. Compatible Equipment Because of its broad voltage range, the Intel Quad-Core processor is compatible with a number of different chipsets and motherboard configurations. Many of the Intel G, P, Q, and X Express Chipsets are compatible; fourteen models in various configurations can be set up with a 3 GHz Quad-Core processor. Twenty-eight compatible motherboards are available with a number of chipsets preinstalled. Classic, Essential, Executive, Extreme, and Media series all feature motherboards compatible with Quad-Core, so no matter the purpose of the machine, a suitable proverbial backbone can be found. User Reviews and Media Reception User reviews of the Intel Core 2 Q9650 processor have been excellent since its release in the third quarter of 2008. Some individuals chose to wait for the product price to drop before buying, but generally speaking, consumers were and still are very excited about Intel’s superfast offering. Serious gamers have found the processor particularly rewarding because of its ability to render graphics very quickly and add to the general gaming experience in a favorable manner. Regardless of the purpose of the machine the Intel Core 2 Q9650 processor serves, the superior technology, excellent specifications and high quality of the component will not disappoint. The Intel corporation continually strives to produce incredible processors, a fact not unrecognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the Corporate Knights, and Fortune magazine, all of whom have awarded the company prestigious honors throughout its tenure. | |

I bought two processors as upgrades to my ASUS P5Q-E and ASUS P5KC not at the same time, but the second time happened because I was impressed with the performance of this model of processor. They are the best model of quad cores for upgrading after I checked ASUS website for proper bios version upgradings to accept this quad core model. Now I am happy.
All I can say it made my Dell I630 come to life, this is a fast chip. I was able to use the stock chip (Intel E8400) in a 2nd machine, my Dell I630 just flys now, and fun to use again.
Probably works great. Was not fully compatible with my system so I cannot accurately write a review.
Still a wonderfull performer that just keeps getting cheaper with age.
Fantastic in a 64 bit system coupled with 8 GB RAM, I've had this processor since XP and it eats Windows 7 up quite nicely.
Phenomenal processor! It does everything needed, overclocks smoothly, and makes other Core 2 products look slow!
