Movie synopsis
In the 2008 computer-animated comedy IGOR, John Cusack provides the voice for the title character, one of many "Igors," whose sole purpose in life is to assist mad scientists in their diabolical experiments with a dutiful and mindless "Yes, master." When Cusack's bright, determined Igor strikes out on his own and creates the Frankenstein's-monster-like Eva (Molly Shannon), aided by a resurrected rabbit named Scamper (Steve Buscemi) and a mislabeled talking brain named Brian (Sean Hayes), his efforts incur the wrath of the winkingly monikered Dr. Schadenfreude (Eddie Izzard), who is set on putting Igor back in his henchman slot of the horror hierarchy.Directed by Tony Leonidas (LILO & STITCH 2: STITCH HAS A GLITCH), IGOR takes many of its macabre cues from horror-comedy classics THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, mixing monster-movie elements with moments of clever humor and generous amounts of slapstick. Although there are dark undercurrents in IGOR (see Buscemi's sarcastic, suicidal hare), the film generally sticks to a family-friendly misfit-makes-good theme, keeping it in the quirky vein of fellow CG-animation movies such as THE CORPSE BRIDE and MONSTERS, INC. While the cast is impressive (particularly the gloriously hammy Izzard), the surprisingly lively gothic-laboratory aesthetic of IGOR is its true star, with the playful visuals leaving plenty for both adults and children to marvel at., Who is the man behind the hump? In this playful animated film, John Cusack lends his voice to the famous henchman who may not be as bad as all the movies and books have made him out to be.

TERRIFIC FUN! ! ! ! ! !

Loved it. It is terrific fun with a message. I'm a huge fan of John Cusack, even just the voice, and he was great as Igor. This is a terrific addition to any animation collection.

Who's it for

The graphics were above average. A character theme was apparent though subtle.With the killing theme, it's really not a movie for small child. There isn't much for the teens. I like it, but really... who was it made for ?

I love dark humor. This is also a story that isn't all about beauty, but about love and the importance of being true to onesself. It is set in a dark place, but proves that even dark places have light. Unlike most of the kids stories of today it has some real heart and a real morals. It is also wonderfully humorous.

Kids love this movie.

I originally bought this movie at a rental store as a used copy because I did not know how much my daughter would enjoy it. She actually watched the disk until it would simply not play anymore and I needed to replace it. I ordered it on ebay because it was easy to find at a fairly good price. This movie was good to watch once, for me, but something about the music and large patchwork woman draws my daughters attention. I think it is her bouncy, flouncy attitude that she portrays in the movie.

I loved this movie for taking an old story and putting new twist and up to date theams, to make a movie that was as much fun for my kids to watch as it was for me. Like "Shrek" The writer did put suddle adult humor thru out this movie. I loved it and can sit and watch or lisson from the other room over and over. lets face it any kids movie we buy, most of us will be forced to watch or lisson to sometimes back to back depending on our kids moods. Well at least this movie will fade into the back ground or bring a smile to our faces. what more can we ask for?
