    Movie synopsis
Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing star in this creepy tale of a long-frozen "missing link" discovered in the ice in Northern China. As the frozen relic is being transported to England via a trans-Siberian train, passengers begin turning up dead, their eyes drained of all color. This excellent forgotten horror gem has the look and feel of a Hammer production, though it's Spanish. Oh, and Telly Savalas is in it, too!

"Horror icons Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing made 22 moves together, but HORROR EXPRESS is one of the wildest....[A] deserved cult item..."
USA Today - Mike Clark (03/31/2000)

"Poised on the edge of camp, HORROR EXPRESS nimbly cycles through genres, with drawing-room mystery and procedural elements bleeding into Universal-style monster effects and science-fiction hokum." -- Grade: B+

    GREAT SCI-FI/HORROR MOVIE

The powerhouse pair of Cushing and Lee make this unusually high quality Euro monster movie especially enjoyable. The plot: Cushing finds a frozen apelike archaeological "missing link". The discovery is crated up and is being shipped on an Orient Express-type train. The "missing link" houses an evil alien entity that was trapped in the "ape" when it was frozen ages ago. As the specimen thaws, the entity is freed to create mayhem and 90 minutes of entertainment for horror fans. An added extra: Telly Savalas miscast as a Cossack-type tough guy. Be sure to buy the EUROSHOCK COLLECTION version by Image Media for a high quality Widescreen copy. Most of the other versions are full screen versions and lesser quality sound and picture.

    What's not to like?

A young arrogant bastard type Telly Savalas; Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in the same film but not as Draula or Van Helsing; no Hammer Productions in the credits; not snakes on a plain but horror on a train; pretty good special effects for the era. I say all in all it is an enjoyable film that you can watch with you kids 11 and up and see that this type of horror can still scare them without all the slashing, cursing, or nudity.

Horror Express a train trip into terror, not to bad for a 70s flick!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

A must have film for fans of Christopher Lee's earlier work, the film was actualy made in (1972) but released in DVD form in (2005), I saw this movie when I was 7 years old and it scared the hell out of me, now that I am a lot older I caught a chance to own this film again for a good price on DVD, it does not have the same effect that it did when I was younger but it is still worth another look. The movie is about an English anthropologist who has discovered a frozen creature in the frozen wastes of Manchuria which he believes may be the missing link of human evolution. He brings the creature back to Europe aboard a Trans-Siberian express train, but during the trip the creature begins to thaw out and then starts to butcher the passengers one by one. This is one movie that I would give a try, you may enjoy this film, it does have it's moments!

CLASSIC CHRISTOPHER LEE PETER CUSHING HORROR MOVIE!!!

I thought this movie was EXCELLENT! One of the old classic Horror Films that I remember seeing many times late at nite on local stations when I was just a kid. I think this is really one of Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing's best Horror films! It has some really suspenseful scary moments, not your typical Horror movie at all! This movie is is worth having if you like Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing and/or Horror movies!

    Horror Express

This review has less to do with the entertainment value of the movie than with the quality of the dvd. The movie concept is interesting but the execution is so-so. It is a "B" movie at best. However, those of us who are fans of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee will find enough entertainment in it to offset its many defects. What I didn't like was the quality of the dvd. In my opinion, it is one of the poorest quality video transfers that I have ever seen; comparable to a third generation vhs tape. I hope there is something better out there, perhaps in a letterbox format. I'm still looking.
