Hoover UH30010COM Upright Cleaner

This upright comes with a small canister. After using the upright for a couple of months, I can say that it does an excellent job on carpeting, even better than my old vacuum, which was a self-propelled Hoover Wind Tunnel (with bag). BUT, I really don't like having to get out an additional vacuum to do baseboards, upholstery, lamp shades, etc. I would love to see this same upright vacuum with the tools on board like my old Wind Tunnel.

The other thing about this vacuum is that the bags are VERY expensive, and of course, you also have to buy (fairly expensive) bags for the canister vacuum that comes with it. At this point you can only get the brand name Hoover bags. Yes, the bags for the upright are quite large, but I have found that they don't get as full proportionally as the old bags did, so I'm not sure I'm changing bags that much less often. I'll be happier when some generic bags become available.

Love the light on the front of the vacuum - it's quite bright and pointed in the right direction. I like the way the cord wraps up on this one better than the old Wind Tunnel, even though there is no "release" so you can pull the cord off all at once. This one is sturdy and you don't have to worry about it "releasing" when you are trying to wind the cord up, something that happened a lot with my Wind Tunnel. The light weight is great; I'm in my late 50's, and I would have no problem carrying this vacuum upstairs. I like the full bag warning light, and I like the new system for removing and replacing the bag. Love the placement of the on-off switch (on the handle). At first I thought you might accidentally turn off the vacuum, that maybe it was TOO convenient, but that hasn't happened at all. The soft "bumpers" on the vacuum make you less likely to nick your furniture also. The width of the Platinum is just a little less than my old Wind Tunnel, which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spots. Last of all, the Platinum is quieter than my old Wind Tunnel, a factor I think my husband appreciates even more than I do.

Price? I think you are getting a quality vacuum for the money.

The positive aspects of this vacuum do outweigh the 2 negatives (expensive bags, no tools on board), and if Hoover took this same vac and put tools on board...vacuum nirvana!

I was very impressed by the suction produced by this lightweight machine. I like the streamline design without the heavy weight and tools in the way. I needed a narrower floor vac because I do not live in a McMansion and the width has been perfect for my use. The zip bag compartment opens wide and has a nice sleek design. I really liked the hepa filter bags with a large capacity. I do not like bagless machines because you breathe in the dirt you just cleaned up when you open and empty the dirt cup. So searching for a hepa, bag, light weight machine were my basic requirements for a new vacuum.

The shoulder vac with attachments was something new for me. Again, excellent suction, hepa filter, bag, lightweight, interchangeable tools, nice long electrical cord all allowed me to go from floor to ceiling, up and down steps with minimal bending and reaching. I was not sure about the shoulder vac when I purchased the duo but I'm glad I did. I highly recommend the Platinum Hoover floor and shoulder vac system.

It is great vacuum specially who has capet in the home.
It is light weight. Thats another good thing.

If there's an opportunity for a sweaper to clean a dirty house, I've got it. With pets, muddy traffic and house renovation, my carpet takes a beating, but the Hoover vaccuum does a great job in pulling up the dog hair, dust and dirt. The hepa filter works great. I don't have any dust on my sweaper, showing me that it keeps the dust in the bag. The bags seem to fill up rather quickly, but like I mentioned, my house gets more dirt than others. I'll deal with buying bags if I know its doing it's job.

Also, the additional carry vaccuum was a great bonus. It has great tools, easy to use and good suction. If I had to change anything, it would be managing the cord, but that's being picky. A fantastic bonus to this purchase.

The old vacuum was on its last legs. Having had several vacuums in the past, we were aware of some of the attributes we liked or hated. We wanted something that was light, but seemingly sturdy. Good suction on carpets was a key factor as well as easy rolling across thick carpet. We prefer a removable bag as opposed to the bagless varieties. Since 90% of use was without special attachments, we wanted those but thought it was great to have them separate and not be toted around adding to overall weight. A long cord is so extremely useful. We found all of these attributes in this Hoover vaccuum. We checked out other models and other brands, but this model seemed the best price point. When it arrived and we had it out of the box and running, we knew we had done well in our choice.
