Great Drill

I bought this drill after looking into many different brands and with the small compact size and weight and amount of torgue it has for its size was ideal for constent use during the day. I was very happy after putting it to work the first few days. It didn't weigh down on you and it feels great in your hand, nice and comfortable and compact little drill and the fact it has 18v ion battery, good constent power through out the day. Has enough power to get most jobs done quickly and has nice locking chuck and drill light. Overall, very happy with this buy and would buy this product again.

Hitachi ds18dsal drill is affordable yet can do the job!

This Hitachi drill has proven to be one of my favorite tools. I am currently remodeling my home and this drill has proven very useful and versatile. It is lighter than the last generation 18v drills with the nimh
batteries yet has more torque ( 460 inch pounds ). The built in LED light has made working in low light situations much easier. The handle has a grippy surface. The forward and reverse buttons are accessible with the hand that is using the drill without taking it away from the work surface.The lithium ion batteries last a long time allowing completion of jobs the old drills couldn't do with a single battery. Charging takes a bit longer, but with two batteries supplied this is no problem.

Great price for a powerful lightweight drill with 2 batteries.

After both of the batteries on my old drill died I started to search and research a replacement. Since the newer drills of this caliber were priced too high for my wallet I was delighted to find this bargain. This is a great lightweight and powerful tool. The lithium batteries hold a charge much longer than my old cadmium powered drill. I like that they did provide a new flashlight and a large case. The drill has some nicks and scratches but doesn't look beat up. Overall an excellent buy for a great product. The only thing that would have made it really super would have been new batteries instead of used.

Bought this drill to replace a worn out B&D. I like the 2 speed switch and the light when you pull the trigger. Although it has the same voltage as my B&D, it has so much more power and it is lighter because of the lithium ion battery. The belt clip is also a great feature. I highly recommend this cordless drill and would buy it again.

Excellent Drill! Very Pleased with Hitachi DS18DSAL 18 V Lithium Drill

I am a 2nd time buyer. My first one fell off my roof over 20 feet and landed on the concrete below. I took it completely apart and glued the broke parts back together. The drill lasted for about 2 months, which is great, considering most other drills could not have survived the fall from 20+feet. Eventually it did fail due to the contacts on the electric motor being slightly out of position, (they took the majority of the hit on the fall).

This drill is the best I have ever used and I've tried nearly all the brands.

The batteries are great, they last quite a while and they charge super fast.

The unit is pretty light and easy to use for a 18 volt drill. It is very powerful and has great torque.
