Traditional enough to kick off with a new arrangement of the bluegrass standard "Shady Grove" and to close with the traditional folk tune "Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms," HISTORY OF THE FUTURE is otherwise heavy on originals by Skaggs and members of his band, including the swell "Road To Spencer" and the rollicking train song "One Way Track."
