|With lively prose, unforgettable characters, and a touch of mischievous wit, Fern Michaels creates vivid reading experiences in all of her acclaimedUSA TodayandNew York Timesbestselling novels. Now, she inspires and entertains with a touching tale of the transforming power of love -- and a woman whose broken heart finds more room for the simple pleasures of family and home, and for discovering true love in the last place she expected.Darby Lane and Russell Gunn had been inseparable friends from their early years in the Horseshoe, their wonderful Baton Rouge neighborhood of Southern comforts and childhood fancies, all the way through to graduate-school dreams and beyond. Then the unthinkable happens: a tragic accident takes Russ's life, and Darby's world is shattered. Returning to the Horseshoe in utter despair, Darby clings to the only family she's ever known: the three wily and colorful aunts who raised her.Her long journey to healing takes hold as Darby begins to see Russ's brother Ben through new eyes. Suddenly love blooms in the place of grief, and now, with the help of her aunts, Darby faces the challenge of reuniting Ben with his estranged father --ifthey can get through the conniving schemes of Ben's social climber stepmother. Calling on the same tender care and patience with which she builds custom dollhouses, Darby begins to create a new life out of her loss -- and comes to understand that love truly can conquer anything.|
With more than sixty-six million copies of her novels in print, Fern Michaels has long been accustomed to spending time on the bestseller lists. Her latest, HEY, GOOD LOOKING, is further proof of her storytelling prowess, quiet wisdom, and gift for creating characters that fairly walk right off the page. When the Gunn family reunites to mourn the tragic death of 33-year-old Russ, they find themselves confronting some old wounds. Russ's father, Marcus, has been distant from his children for years, imprisoned in his own home by an evil second wife who had blackmailed him into marriage. But Ben, Russ's brother, remains unsympathetic and refuses to forgive Marcus for being an absentee father. Only the intervention of Ben's lover Darby Lane can bring an end to the impasse. She teams up with her three wily aunts to free poor Marcus from his pernicious spouse, convince Ben to forgive his father, and get them both a chance to find meaning in Russ's death by becoming a family again. Set against the rich backdrop of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, HEY, GOOD LOOKING evokes two extraordinary families and the ties that bind them through heartache and adversity.

Fern Michaels is an excellent author. I enjoy all of her books she writes. This book is in her traditional good form. It has very real characters, and a believable story line. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Another winner for Ms. Michaels. I actually emailed her to tell her how wonderful I thought it was! She returned my email saying I was the first to review it. She has WONDERFUL, energetic characters, humor only found with this author, shows through. The three Aunts are hysterical, all different sides of one PERFECT cycle. I would rate this her BEST yet, and I am a BIG fan of hers, as I have already read all of her previous ones. Any fan of Ms. Michaels has DEFINATELY GOT to read this one! Only an AAAAA++++++++ rating is possible!
I have read many books by Fern Michaels and think she is an excellent author.
Thank goodness authors are leaving behind the concept that all readers like books with explicit sex and violence. I belong to bookclubs that have a better price than Waldenbooks and Books a million but ebay has the best prices I read
a lot of books I amwhat is trash. probably a good judge of what is good and
I am also a fan of Fern Michaels but disappointed with this book.
The CONSTANT harping of the lead character (already forgot her name) about her inability to grant her best friend's wish was too over the top. The only things that saved this book was the 3 Aunts and Ben.
I'm very glad that I bought this book on Ebay and not at a Book store
I am a HUGE Fern Michaels fan and have read all of her books. This was the first one of her books that I read I was disapointed in. It's a very slow read. I can read a good book in under 2 days. This book took me almost a month to read. It just couldn't keep me interested. Not one of her best. If you don't read this you will NOT be missing anything. But.... that's just my opinion.
