Very good horror movie scary. Your play around opened box Hellraiser lament puzzle box and opened gate hell souls.
A great follow up to the first Hellraiser.I really enjoyed the first film so I figure I'd try out the sequel and I was not disappointed. Many familiar faces which I like to see in sequels and you got to love the fact the cenobites get more face time.A great amount of gore and Great old school special effects(Not the computer generated ones lol).Love the mad doctor after his transformation. If your just getting into the Hellraiser films I strongly recommend the first two and the fourth one "Bloodline".They go down hill from there on.Three I thought was a mess, but that's just my opinion.Buy this movie,Sit back and relax...You are in Hell now and the Pleasures are endless.
The second Hellraiser movie is okay, but it does not seem as good as the first movie. The audience gets to see what happens to Kirsty after the box gets taken at the end of the first movie. There are some references to the first movie to help the story along but it is recommended to watch the movies in order to get the full experience of the series. Hellraiser II isn't a bad horror movie but it isn't great either. If the audience can survive the first half of the movie it does get better towards the middle and end. The plot of the second movie is that Kirsty gets a message from her "father" that he is in Hell and wants her to try and save him. Of course this means opening the box once again and confronting Pinhead and his Cenobites. Julia also makes an appearance and corrupts an already corrupt doctor from a mental institute in opening the box to a world full of wonders. As the movie progresses the audience will learn more about the doctor's sins and that him traveling to Hell was inevitable. In the last few parts of the movie we get to learn more about the Cenobites and how they came to be and finally the relationship between Pinhead and Kirsty.
This is a GREAT sequel,IMHO. It picks up right where the original movie leaves off... which most sequels don't even bother with. It also stays true to the gorey, spine-chilling visuals... especially the scene where Pinhead himself is created... (ya' gotta love a good hammer 'n' nails to the head scene, like the one presented here!). I've read some complaining opinions about this 2nd outing, but, I loved it. Dynamic and action packed throughout. Also, big kudos to Doug Bradley for keeping the faith and enduring the intensive make-up process time and time again... He has such sights to show you !
If you liked Hellraiser you'll like Hellbound. It just starts right up where the other left off. Same characters/different day. I liked it.
