Why would someone want to buy this game? well you might buy it to play the first harvest moon game that started the hit series of farming games and complete your collection. That's why I went and bought the game. This games is well done for being made for an old system like the snes. All of the newer games of the series keep all the basics from this game and add on new features and more convienient controls.
What's great about the game? Well since this is for the snes it has classical graphics for it's date of release which are enjoyable much like supermario world. The game has endless ways to complete the game. There are two files in which you can save to which makes this better than the first gameboy version that was released.
Are there any downsides to the game? Well every game has it's down fall and this games isn't excempt from this question. for one this game now comes for a hefty price ranging any where from $70-150. I was lucky enough to find a good working condition at the lower end of the price range. Another downfall would be that the ingame play has some inconvienances for example if the day is rainy and you harvest your crops you will then have to water you plants even though it is rainy. lastly the games it hard to come by if not impossible to find at any pawnshops or any store to find so the only place to turn to is a place like EBay
all in all it's a great game to play if you enjoy this type of game and well worth it in the end.
Harvest moon is a great game. It teaches you to take care of crops and animals. I think it's perfect for young kids. It teaches them responsibility. If you don't take care of your animals, they'll get really sick and die. I could sit in front of the t.v. and play this game for hours.
Harvest Moon is a simple yet charming game. You are given your grandpa's old farm and your goal is to make it prosperous in two years. In that time you can acquire cows, chickens, a dog, a horse, and possibly a family. This game set the theme for the series and also the facebook style games. I've loved this series for years and I hope to for many more.
A great game that teaches morals and the reward of hardwork in an adorable and fun environment. By whipping your late grandfather's farm you can grow to be a successful part of the small town life. Make friends with the townspeople and have fun participating in festivals and the like. Because of it's highly collectible nature as the first in the series, the SNES version has become quite a gem to be held in any Super Nintendo collection. I am proud to own one for mine, but if you're just looking for the gameplay, newer versions that provide a similar quality and better graphics can be found for much cheaper.
What I like: The game is the first in a long line of popular farm-sim games for the Nintendo consoles.
What I love: This is game is highly collectible and quite valuable. I got it at a reasonable price and it is something my girlfriend can enjoy too.
What I dislike: The game cost as much as it did when it was new but should hold its value over time. So, that might actually be a plus.
