Review For: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I (DVD, 2011)

I bought this movie to continue to entertain my family with the world of Harry Potter. This wasn't the typical Harry Potter movie, this started with Harry and the others on the run from Voldemort's minions. This was action filled with fight and flight scenes with the good wizards against the bad. Very enjoyable and a must see more than once to gather in all the action and nuances of the actors and the storyline. This is a good progression in Harry's character and his abilities as a wizard and the friendships and relationships of all the characters. This does leave an open ending for the next movie with Harry having dreams of the old headmaster, Dumbledorf,of Hogwarts.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I

Review For: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I (DVD, 2011)

Part I of the Deathly Hallows is faithful to the book for the most part. Although a few things were cut out (such as the evil werewolf Greyback with the Snatchers or cutting out the Harry/Lupin fight in favor of a cute tent dancing scene with Hermione) the overall spirit of the movie was faithful to the book.

The movie felt rushed at first. In the book there was more build-up with Uncle Vernon. On the other hand, Harry's contemplation of the little stairway closet he used to live in, you can almost hear him say "Wow, I've come a long way."

And indeed he has. He wants no one to be hurt or injured and would rather go off on his trek on his own. But Ron and Hermione will have none of it. and go Disapparating all over the English countryside with the Death Eaters hot on his tail.

Several scenes they got right: Ron's anger and jealousy with Harry and Hermione. The Patronus doe to the lake where the sword of Gryffindor is laid. The snake attack at Bagshot's place.

And most amazingly, the great animation of the Three Brothers tale, as told by Hermione (and interrupted by Ron a couple times)!

I can see a person not having read the book might have some trouble with parts of the screenplay. Reading the book clearly helps in filling in the gaps. The snappy dialogue and the deep emotional investment by the audience is wrenching. But the occasional humor (the tent scene) was cute. And the soundtrack by the London Symphony Orchestra was superb.

An amazing and dark adaptaion of half of the book

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.
Review For: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I (DVD, 2011)

Ever since I finished reading the last Harry Potter book and saw the trailer for the movie I was so excited for it to come out. I finally saw the movie and I was very satisifed with it. Since the Chamber of Secrets movie this movie is on the few that it very close to the book with a few changes. My only complaint is that SPOILER: (Is that Petter Pettigrew didn't die like in the book instead he gets stunned by Dobby thats it!) I guess though. The actions though very few but were really cool to see. All the actors espicially the main three did a really good job in the movie. To me this is the best one in the series of Harry Potter movies along with Chamber of Secrets. If you are a Harry Potter fan or likes the movies than go see it you enjoy every minute and get you even more excited for Part 2 of the movie where the Climax of the book and the series is finally going to happen. See it now!

Harry VS Lord Voldemort!!!!

Review For: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I (DVD, 2011)

Great beginning of the end for a very successful movie franchise. Harry and his friends finally go after Lord Voldemort to destroy all the rest of the Horcruxes and finish off evil for good. Very good action and lots of very emotional scenes between Harry, friends and family. Can't wait for DH part 2. I know I will enjoy all the movies for years to come.
