All five of these movies rock, and now in Blu-ray disc format they rock and roll. Christmas break 2008 would not have been the same without all five of the Harry Potter movies. The quality is better, the sound is better, and I love the ease of bookmarking and special scenes.
This is a really cool gift set. I was actually looking for a set with all the Harry Potters, but I didn't want to pay the high price tag for the other sets. This set came with a special features DVD, movie 1-5, DVD game, bookmark set, letter to Hogwarts, and some trading cards. If you are buying a used one, I would check the description carefully if you want the bookmarks and other extras. The chest style box is neat, but it is a little flimsy. I wouldn't worry about that unless you are planning to throw the thing across the room. The menu system is not the best, but I got what I wanted and couldn't beat the price.
Ah, Harry Potter, a budget spiritual fantasy series. Although shallow as literature, Potter movies are certainly exciting, in fact, the special effects make them fantastic. The real problem with Harry is the movie's incitement toward witchcraft. If you're one of the 1 in 100 who step into these practices because of Harry's tempting stories, don't expect to finish well like he does. Real witchcraft leads to real evil, and people who get mixed up in it really change. "Years One to Five" is yet another doorway into a haunted, dark life. Better to stick with Frodo & Narnia. Keep the kids away from these movies.
I bought the Harry Potter 1-5, full screen, DVD set to complete my sister's collection. This was a great price and exactly what I needed. Also, because the cases in the set are smaller than a normal DVD case, it is easier to store!
This set is a gorgeous addition to anyone's prized Hi Def collection. Considering the exact video quality as Bluray , HD dvd was unfortunately short lived, but there were still ALOT of great titles released on this format before it's demise. This set is one such that is an excellent portrayal of the Harry Potter Series. The average price on this stunning HD DVD set is close to a quarter of what you'd pay for the blu ray set for the same video quality!!! I was afraid to open it due to it's unique collectibility and beauty!! A won't regret purchase by anyone's standards !!!!
