I let my daughter (13yr old) pick out our movie, and she happened to pick this 1. I breifly read the back of it and thought, "we'll give it a shot" I'm so glad I did. Eric Bana is a good actor, and plays a strong supporting roll. THis girl Hanna however ROCKS! I love the whole story line as well. When I review movies, I try not to just explain the movie, more so I tell you why I liked it, and if you like me hey they you might too. SO with that in mind I won't say much about it that you couldnt read on the back of the movie, or on previews. This girl, is a super hero I guess. In the sense that shes better then most at fighting. Seems far more intelligent, and had "something" done to her that wouldn't of happened to her biologically. But she just the kinda of "super hero" I like. Not superman, or the punisher. SOmeone that can kick some butt, and doesn't mind doing it. This is a re-freshing movie, and you won't be disappointed you got it. For me it was awesome because I thought it was gonna be a dud! If you have your heart set on watching this, I still believe you wont be disappointed. ITs a solid 4 star movie, that keeps you focused the whole time. Its good to see hollywood come out with some new stuff.
Hanna is the story of a teenage girl raised to be an assassin because of her father's past CIA involvement. After living in the wilderness, she triggers a homing beacon that starts the ball rolling for the revenge against her father's old head operative. Scenes of top flight action are interspersed with slower moments where Hanna develops a more human side in the real world. Saiorise Ronan (The Lovely Bones) is excellent as Hanna as well as Eric Bana as the father. But the over the top performance goes to Cate Blanchett as the villainous chief of the past mission that ended badly. The central link of this movie is heart, and you'll know why when you view it. Recommended!
I young girl that seems to start the movie as a genius, then once out of her element, a little less so, but she can still kick alot of #$#. I wish they wouldnt have had her running away so much, I havent counted but I wonder how many "run girl run" scenes they have in the movie. It is worth watching, once at least, and I think it has alot of potential as a prequil to a great action film...
Hanna (Saoirse Ronan), 16-year-old who was raised by her father, ex-CIA operative (Eric Bana), to be the perfect assassin is dispatched on a mission across Europe, tracked by a ruthless intelligence agent (Cate Blanchett) and her operatives. Placed as an infant into a program of trained assassins she has been schooled in several languages, and has lived in the wild and trained in the art of survival and killing. Her mission is to kill Blanchett and put an end to that program.
This movie is as about as exciting as watching an old car rust. You might like it. . .
the reason i got this movie is because i heard nothing but good things about it. it plays like an artsy / action film with no faults. plus my fav gaming mag gave this 4 out of 5 stars. i must own it!!!
