Hello I'll be reviewing Halo: Combat Evolved for Xbox and pc.
This is one of the few epic games that have been released ever. This game has good a.i., story board and game play. Halo was announced in 1999 as a 3rd person shooter (with more weapons) on the pc and Mac but because it took so long to make it, it was ported on the Xbox in 2001. Fans were pleased. What most made this game one of the best was multiplayer mode, which people with Xbox live could battle each other via the internet. The campaign mode was also one of the best because of 4 different difficulty levels, easy - for first timers, normal - for people who want a little bit of a challenge, heroic - for people who want to be brave and legendary - for people who want to play in a heck like difficulty. About half way through the game when people were fighting the covenant they encountered a new foe, the flood. When I saw this I was amazed at what halo had done. Then in 2003 came the pc port for Halo which included 6 new multiplayer maps and you didn't need Xbox live to play online. The a.i. is good too, because when an enemy sees you, you might want to take cover because he'll call his buddy's to come and fight too. The story is one of the best also because it has sad & awesome moments and oh no what happened moments.
That is what makes this game one of the greatest anyone has ever played.
Halo is by far the best pc game that i have ever played, way ahead of its time, i tried the game on my new computer with a 7900gt KO superclocked and was blown away. The game has a great plot and great controls. I have probably beaten Halo 5 or 6 times, just because it is so great. The game is in no way a kiddy game and is in no way short of excitement. Even though this game is quite old, it is still better than many games out there, both in graphics and plot. Unfortunately, because the game is so old, there are very few online servers still active, but let me tell you. If you find a busy server, you will not be disapointed, the online play is superb. Sadly, Microsoft has really jipped computer users, Halo 1 is great on PC, but for Halo 2, you will have to have an XBOX or buy Windows Vista to play it, in that sense, i recommend waiting til you get a new computer with vista on it, and then buy Halo 2.
Hope this helps!

Played the original game on the Xbox and I have to say that the PC version is far superior! The graphics and controls simply put work better on the PC. You have to remember that Halo was originaly set for launch on the PC until Microsoft brought the Bungie, Halo's designers and moved the game to there baby the original Xbox. The fact that there are more multiplayer maps to use online and amatuer designed maps available for download make this game stand out form the rest. To put this simply if you havent played Hlao yet then what world are you living on? and if you played Halo on the Xbox you wont be disapointed with the PC version. This game recieves a 5 star rating from me even though its a couple of years old its still one of the best First Person Shooters available for the PC. BUY IT NOW!!
the fighting technique is terrible and the graphics are outdated. This game has way too many levels where you fight in the open and when you do that you give up all of your stealth. Whenever you give your visibility out in the open you allow players who have never played before to kill you. this means that no matter how well you know the level you will not have an advantage over the newcomers. Of course, I dont believe that my rating is entirely accurate but I felt that those who had already given it a rating have entirely overrated the game in it's entirety... too many people play halo, that is why too many people overlook it's mistakes. I have played many greater games than halo with regards to this genre alone.
Halo Combat evolved has probably one of the most well thought out story modes. Everything falls together. The graphics are great for its time. Online play is my favorite part about the game. There are four possible vehicles you can use online. Ghost, Banshees, Warthogs, and scorpion. There are at least a dozen maps to play on, and a variety of weapons to choose from. There are three different types of enemies in the story mode.
The Covenant- Which are different types of Aliens, some of them are really easy to kill(Grunts),and some are very hard to kill(Hunters).
Sentinels-Are Halos defense system. They are mini hovering spacecrafts that destroy all threats(Humans, Covenant & Flood), they are not particularly hard to destroy so don't worry.
The Flood-Are parasitic enemies that are thought up to be the toughest of all enemies to defeat. The flood are often armed with either Human or Covenant weapons. The Flood are my least favorite enemies in the Halo game, just because their are so many of them. The Flood only appear in a few levels, so you don't have to deal with them throughout the entire game.
If you have any questions about this game that I did not mention here, please contact me, I would be more than happy to answer all of your questions about this game. If I did not mention a certain detail that you would like to know, just tell me and I will add it here.. Thank You
