|Microsoft and Bungie's blockbuster sci-fi shooter series continues with this standalone expansion to Halo 3. Battle through an all-new campaign as an ODST, short for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, in a storyline that serves as a prequel to the events chronicled in Halo 3. Your mission is to locate the remaining members of your squad somewhere within the Covenant-besieged city of New Mombasa. A new multiplayer mode entitled "Firefight" is introduced, where up to four players must work together to repel increasingly challenging waves of enemies. A second disc is home to a total of 24 multiplayer maps, three of which are new, with the remainder comprised of the "legendary," "heroic," and "mythic" Halo 3 map packs that were previously available as downloadable content via Xbox Live. Initial runs of Halo 3: ODST also include a key to the multiplayer beta of the franchise's next anticipated entry, Halo: Reach. This collector's pack includes both the game and an exclusive wireless controller featuring custom-designed artwork.|

ODST puts you into a different perspective than one is normally used to in the Halo games. You are no longer in the boots of a Spartan soldier, capable of killing thousands of aliens in the blink of an eye. Instead, you take the role of a special forces Marine Orbital Drop Shock Trooper.
The greatest thing about this game are the characters. They are humorous and feel like people you know in real life. The incredible Nathan Fillion of Firefly fame takes the role of Gunnery Sergeant Buck, the head of the ODST squad you're in. His performance along with Tricia Helfer's (of Battlestar Galactica fame) is reason alone to play the game.
The only thing I didn't like about it was after playing through it a few times it get's extremely tedious. This in no way makes it a bad game, just one not worth playing over and over and over again. Except for the new Firefight mode which is always a lot of fun.
Grab one of these while you can still afford it! In the near future, new version of this will be 2-3 times the cost in value! This game was a great addition to the Halo Universe. Buy it. Love it!
The Halo story continues with an excellent storyline with the ODST's fight in the Mega city of NewMombasa. I enjoyed the story of each character as the game unfolded.
The game play is good just like any Halo game but what I didn't like about is that you can't play with other players online in firefight (only invite people you know) and you can't duel wield weapons. It's an ok game considering it's still in the "Halo 3" so don't expect anything that new in the matter of enemies or weapons.
I thought firefight was gonna be fun and it was... for the first set of waves and after that it just got tiring and boring and sucks that you have to get 200,000 points in all maps to get the achievements when it took me 1 hour just to get 50,000 points.
So in the the end its a 3/5 for me, still like to play it and get the achievements but not a game I consider a "must buy"
Its a great addition to the Halo Universe!!!!! Fun game, short campaign, Excellent multiplayer like always ..... 3 new maps!!!!!
