Haier HLT71 7" 720p HD LCD Television

The Haier HLT71 7" Flat Panel LCD HDTV is a advanced hi-tech digital Television which has many applications, such as digital television reception, as a front door security CCTV monitor, or a vehicle back up camera automotive display.

With external inputs for stereo audio and video this is a very versatile wide screen device.

The users manual is lacking in technical detail and specifications, and the scanning and manual channel selection could be improved so one doesn't have to rescan the frequency spectrum at each new location. The unit is designed for OTA off the air digital and analog reception, but lacks compatibility for cable television channels, and does not have a QAM [Cable clear channel] tuner.

The Haier HLT71 has a bright, clear high definition screen for its size, with adequate onscreen controls for brightness, contrast, hue, color and other default settings. The unit includes a AC and DC 12VDC car power adapters, remote control, and a mono pole antenna removable antenna and standard "F" coaxial connector, and standard "RCA" connectors for input/output of Stereo audio and HD video.

After a negative experience with eBay seller "hastyrebel" selling a faulty unit that supposedly was checked working perfectly with no returns, as is, the Haier U.S. Customer support quickly replaced the sellers faulty unit with a new sealed factory unit which has been a pleasure to use, and has worked perfectly.

I'm very pleased with the performance, specifications, looks, and utility of this new digital/analog off the air portable flat panel rechargeable LCD widescreen Television and Monitor.

As a naturist and nudist I bought this unit to use when camping away from power sources at various nude and clothing optional resorts in anticipation of the change to U.S. OTA digital television transmissions June 12th, 2009.

Great picture and sound with long battery life. Everyone should have one of these instead of a Weather Radio... RADAR IMAGES and multiple broadcasters immediate updates. A Quick Scan of whatever location you are in and unless you are hiking the tundra in Alaska you will have multiple signals to chose from. Kansas City has 22 "Off The Air" DT Signals, crystal clear, including the "Major" network's side-band ALL WEATHER STATIONS. My wife wanted a TV in her closet so she could get the morning news while she was dressing. "Merry Christmas"!!! AC and 12DC adapters and a built in battery that lasts and lasts and lasts. No More TORNADO NIGHTS in the basement without our HAIER to keep us informed. I'm thrilled, and I don't get to see it all that much... only when my wife shows it off to a friend.

When analog signal was finally replaced with digital I did not think about my radio with television bands that I used to listen at work would no longer work. I was only thinking picture quality and not the sound with this change. I went to Ebay to see if there were any digital radios that also had television bands and there was one. I bought it but I could not get any reception on it and was unable to scan for chanels as it had 5 preset to God knows where and can't be changed.
I had to tell you that story to get to this one.
I went back to Ebay and did my search again up came this Haier TV. I was familiar with the name so I bid and won it. It is absolutely great and I received it very quickly too. Not only did it fit the description it was better. It has three different power sources A/C, car charger and battery. It came with adapter cables and has in and out jacks for connecting to other components. None of this was listed on the posting so I was very surprised and pleased. When I set it to scan it found 44 chanels. The picture quality and sound are great. This will come in so handy when the power is out or my Direct TV satelite is not receiving because of cloud cover. I won't be left in the dark so to speak.

I absolutely LOVE this little TV! I bought it mainly because I wanted a portable TV to use in the event of a power outage. It runs about 2-2 1/2 hours on a single charge. It takes about the same amount of time to recharge the battery. I can get 21 channels on it from where I live (a susburb of Indy). The picture is crystal clear and has vivid color. It also has a remote control, which is very handy. Can't wait to use it this summer!
