I consistently own more tech than anyone I know. While WP7 is new, fresh, and in few ways innovative, it is not a game-changer. It may augment competition between two stagnant behemoths to provide more interest in their own lackluster platforms, but it does nothing else. It's fun and inviting for the first week, then frustrating and condescending afterward. Why is there no hotspot? Why is it seemingly difficult to sync gmail? Why does the pocket-to-camera-in-seconds really take 8 seconds for a blurry photo? The soft keyboard is good, although I'm not sure if it's attributed to screen size or proper coding. "Autocorrect" seems to be more intelligible than the Apple variant. Battery life is deplorable if you can even get more than 200kb/s out of AT&T superfast mobileinternwebz. Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo! mail, and messaging is a total breeze, very easy to setup and use, but phone call quality is very lacking and sheesh.. the speakerphone is like listening to someone ruffle aluminum foil underwater. Speakerphone volume at max? Sounds like blown speakers. Bluetooth is easy to setup and use, though, so maybe a good headset will do you right. All in all, I'd call this a wunderbar budget phone when it's running 7.5 mango. WP7 is still beta for us, and has a long way to go, but it's different and exciting to the uninitiated. For those who have seen greener pastures, you may quickly become saturated with boredom and nostalgia for frozen yogurts. Said yogurt will also show up as pixelated images unless you zoom in if you decide to use the web browser, by the way.
Windows Phone 7 was and sometimes still is one of the most under appreciated phone operating systems around. Its genius "see it all in one screen" interface, using simple one color squares on a black or white background, makes for by far, the quickest glace and go phone I've ever used. (I've used phones ranging from iPhones and Androids to older Flip-Phones and BlackBerries)
The operating system is super fast. Syncs with my companies exchange and my personal Google account, and allows me to use both work and play applications seamlessly. It makes a great replacement for that aging Zune too! And on top of all that, The social media integration is superb, and nothing even comes close to it.
In regards to the HTC HD7 Hardware, this is the nicest first gen Windows Mobile 7 phone, that has bridged into the second gen if you're on Tmobile. Its a well built phone, with a pleasant heft to it, and a perfect sized screen. (4.3")
Windows Phone 7 has a great amount of potential....I just hope people start to realize this and jump ship from buggy android phones and wonderful, but quickly discarded iPhones.
The phone has been pretty useful. It is sometimes hard to get to the camera button but it is great. Windows Mobile makes cell phone use really easy. This phone really embodies that since it is made like the EVO in size but much less complex.
Very useful and feature-rich smartphone. Intuitive controls with a shallow (short) learning curve. Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) performs well, however, some perks (custom ringtones and access to sd card memory) not enabled yet. Battery life is okay depending on how it is used (I use the wi-fi and data services a lot). Lots of apps available, some are on par or better than Apple/Android counterparts. Excellent screen and sound. Near seamless email and social network integration.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and the price I paid (OMG!).
I love the phone. Everything is nice. Transitions smoothly and is fast with 3G. Use this phone mostly for work and does everything I need it to. I like the windows 7 operating system. Very good value for the money
