Performance
The EVO 3D is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The Snapdragon processor supports advanced 3D technology, including full 1080p 30-frames-per-second HD video and stereoscopic 3D video capture and playback.

So how much of a difference does dual-core make? We matched the EVO 3D up against its predecessor, the HTC EVO 4G (a single-core device), and there's quite a big difference--one you'll notice as soon as you turn on the phone. The EVO 4G had a startup time of 74 seconds (!), while the EVO 3D had a much faster startup time of 13.7 seconds. File transfer speed was about the same for both phones, with the EVO 4G clocking in at 7.8 megabits per second versus the EVO 3D with 7.2 megabits per second.

We also conducted two gaming performance tests using GLBenchmark, a software suite that tests the quality and performance of OpenGL graphics. We conducted two tests: one with antialiasing on, and one with it off. (Antialiasing is a graphics setting present in many games and is intended to make gameplay graphics look smoother--for a full explanation of the pros and cons of antialiasing, check out Geek 101: Making Sense of Anti-Aliasing). We measured the graphics in frames per second (fps)--the more frames per second, the smoother the animations and graphics. The difference between the single-core EVO 4G and the dual-core EVO 3D is huge: With antialiasing off, the EVO 4G averaged 5.7 fps while the EVO 3D averaged 36.5 fps.

We're currently testing other dual-core phones, including the HTC Sensation and the LG T-Mobile G2x, to see how the EVO 3D's Snapdragon chipset stacks up against its Tegra 2 competitors.

3D Camera and Video Capture
Despite my mixed feelings about 3D, there's something quite satisfying about capturing 3D images or videos and then being able to watch them on the same device. But you can also view them on any 3D TV with the help of the phone's HDMI-out jack. The HDMI jack uses a technology called MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) that allows both charging and HDMI-out via the same port.

Like the Sensation 4G, the EVO 3D comes loaded with Watch, HTC's new movie and TV-show streaming service. With Watch, you can download videos and start viewing them immediately. Watch is well integrated into Sense, making it easier to find the videos you want to, um, watch. The app's interface is clean, and movies are easy to find, but the library is pretty sparse at this point. You'll find some newly released movies like Due Date and some classics like Top Gun. If you're looking for something in particular, though, you're not likely to find it (no Spinal Tap!). A few popular TV shows like Chuck and Gossip Girl are available, but you're limited to one or two seasons of episodes.

Data Speeds and Call Quality
The EVO is also juiced with Sprint's 4G data speeds, and it comes with a 4G mobile hotspot feature that lets you share your connection with up to eight devices. I tested the EVO 3D's data speeds using the FCC Speedtest app in the South Park area of San Francisco. The EVO 3D achieved average download speeds of 3.59 megabits per second and average upload speeds of 1.42 mbps. This is in line with other 4G Sprint phones we have tested in the past. And thank goodness for the 4G widget on Sprint phones, which makes it easy to switch 4G on and off (this setting is buried in the Settings menu on Verizon's 4G phones).

Call quality over Sprint's network in San Francisco was okay, though it could

Indeed, this is a fast and snappy phone. HTC always has a priority in the design of it's phones and this is a nice looking design phone.
Has tons of features that one will not learn in a week but is easy to navigate.
To get the most out of Battery life one can drop the browser menu from the home page and go to Quick Settings and click on Power Saver and it will give more battery life, one should turn off 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, and apps. that are not usually used often. My battery last all day and I use alot of the data features.
The 3D photos sort of messes with your eyes but it's just a fun feature one can use the 2D for their regular photos.
My main reason in getting the phone was it was duel core thus making it a faster browsing experience.

I was expecting some big fat plastic phone with two huge camera sticking out on the back (because it was cheaper than other dual core phones i paid $190) But holy mackrel!! Was i wrong! This is the sleekest, most expensive feeling device i have ever held. No other device feels better in my hand while making a call. This device is very under-rated. In my opinion this phone deserves more attention than a galaxy S2! The screen is 4.3 inches at 960x540 resolution while the galaxyS2 has only a 4inch screen at 800x480! Not only that but the adreno 220 graphics processor in this phone blows away the SGX540 graphics that the BIONIC/GALAXY NEXUS/RAZR/ATRIX2 all use. And that's not it folks.. The snapdragon processor in this phone is a dualcore 1.5ghz snapdragon that is underclocked to 1.2Gghz by HTC to increase battery life! So it can easily be restored to its normal speed and easily overclocked to 2ghz! It also comes with 1GB RAM! This phone has everything! Not only that but the display is the most vibrant i have ever seen of any phone i have ever held. Games look amazing and run very smooth (nova 2, modern combat 3, 9mm, order and chaos, backstab). There is one thing i want to tell you however, this phone has asynchonous CPU's Which mean one is running at all times and the second one kicks it when the phone is doing a lot of work. So my suggestion is to install a custom ROM like MeanRom which applies standard dualcore settings to the phone (so when the screen is on both cores will always be working, but one will be disabled and underclocked while the screen is off for 100+ hours battery life) And with a custom rom like MeanRom you get scores of over 3000 on quadrant standard (and thats at 1.2ghz) So imagine it at 1.5ghz or 2ghz. In my opionion.. This phone is better than a galaxy S2 and has a 10x better display.

The Evo 3D takes the power and versatility of the Evo 4G and turns it up to 11. The 1.2 GHZ processor is noticeably faster. The 3D is not a gimmick; The pictures are definitely 3D and watching movies in 3D is more fun than regular 2D. Video games in 3D are more exciting, though there are only a few available at the moment. I am an Apple fanatic and I own everything apple except the iphone- for 1 reason. The EVO 3D.

The batterylife is less than impressive, but that's the trade you make for a huge screen and super powerful processing. Don't expect to watch any 3D movies without your charger, but everyday normal texting and calling with a few uses of internet should keep you battery full for the day.

The calendar widget syncs with my ipad/macbook calendar.
I'm very glad I bought this phone. It was well worth the money and better than any phone I (or my friends) have ever had.

I came from an HTC EVO 4g that I unlocked changed around overclocked/underclocked. The EVO 4g was fast it was a great phone this phone blows that phone out the water. I was scared to get the EVO 3D at first because why move on to something new when you already have something good.

I got the EVO 3d and the duel core cpu is great. Sense 3.0 is fast, all the apps open so fast. I love the higher resolution screen. The phone is great without the 3d. With 3d the pictures are awesome there is so muth depth behind images when you take pictures. The 5mp camera is better than the HTC EVO 4g regular 8mp camera, so even if this phone didnt have 3d it would still take great pictures.

3d movies look awesome on the phone, you can download them fro the computer to the sd card or watch some on youtube and wow it just looks amazing. I thought the 3d was a gimmick but it's not when I show my friends they just have a huge smile (avatar 3d)

The only downside is that the phone has pretty bad battery life even with the 1730mah battery that phone can barely make it threw-out the day. As soon as the phone is officialy unlocked from HTC in September I'm sure this will change. So over all the phone is great. Voice, 3g, 4g, text is all great and better signal strength than on the original EVO 4g I think this phone is better than the original in everyway except battery.
