Love this phone. All the goodies you get with the larger smartphones in a small package that fits in your pocket again like the old days!
It's small, very durable, faster and with a much better battery life that its precursor, the Palm Pre, which I had just before this. And it even plays Flash, which is more than most smartphones can say. My only 2 gripes are the new charging cable, which used to be a mini-usb, so you could always find a spare within reach among friends, now you have to always travel with one (or use the touchstone charging dock, which i also love), and the fact that there just aren't as many apps available for WebOS yet. It's a great competitor with the iPhone in every other category, syncing all my contact and calendar accounts with google, facebook, outlook (with the help of PocketMirror, a must have). And i love still having a real keyboard but all the other advantages of the touchscreen as well.
I do miss the flash that used to be on the Palm Pre camera, which helped focus the photos, but the camera is fine for a phone camera. All in all, I love my new mini-do-it-all phone. Definitely worth the $200 I paid on ebay for it.
I already had a prepaid T-Mobile sim card with 450 minutes so I bought an unlock program in order to take advantage of that.It has WIFI which allows me to avoid buying a data package as long as I have a signal. I wanted the qwerty keyboard because using telephone keys to text with was maddening. My hands are normal size and I found the small keys surprisingly easy to use. When I am not carrying the Veer it sits on the Touchstone charger and becomes the best digital alarm clock in my bedroom with my choice of ringtones and a snooze. When I first picked up the Veer it slipped out of my hand. I quickly found a lanyard and attached it allowing me to hold it steadier and find it in my pocket easier. Plan on taking precautions like this because it's size and smooth rounded surface will make it easy to lose. Photos can be blurred by oil on the lens from ones hands. A lens cloth would be handy. The absence of a flash has been no problem for me. Prior to purchasing the Veer I rarely carried my cell phone. Now I carry it every day.
Extra small, but vera fast and user friendly phone with all new features and amazing system. WebOS is for me the best OS for smartphones. For a really low price you get GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 5MPx camera and..., phone with great design and low weight.
I like the phone very much. Had to read the paperwork with this one, it's not as easy to just figure out as most phones. It does have a tendency to freeze up from time to time & the touch seems to have "moods", sometimes not responding, other times very sensitive. It does take a long time to start up. I'm not impressed with the App Catalog, doesn't really compare to Android. I love the size of it and the keyboard is easier to use then I thought it was going to be. I think it's a very good value for the price.
Great Phone I love it. Easy to use, perfect size, great keyboard, and a great price. The only thing missing more Apps, Hope as the webos turns opens source can attract more developers
