The HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus has an ample feature set that includes AirPrint and ePrint functionality as well as print, scan, copy, and fax functions, automatic duplexing, and an autodocument feeder.
The printer is big, slow to power on and pricier than competing models, and a single 250-sheet input tray reduces its appeal for busy offices.
The HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus inkjet all-in-one offers the convenience of Web connectivity, but both business and home users will prefer the Epson WorkForce 840's reduced footprint and versatility.

This is by far the worst printer I have Ever owned & I run an ad agency, so I have owned/ operated my fair share. The print quality is Okay SOMETIMES, but it usually prints white streaks. Everything HP claims about this printer is an absolute LIE! Supposed to print 11-15 ppm at High Quality & 20-30 ppm at Normal/Low Resolution. It took me over 6 hours to print 44 pages. It also claims you can print 900-1000 pages with regular cartridges & 1400-2200 pages with the XL ones. Way OFF! I started making usage reports & keeping track of when I changed each cartridge & even with the XL cartridges, it only averages MAYBE 300 pages that are not even high ink coverage. HP admits I received a lemon, but refuses to replace it. Instead, they want to try to send me new printheads & go through a million steps to see if it "can be fixed". Here while I have spent over $700 in 7 months on ink & have not even printed 5,000 pages TOTAL yet! That's 34 cartridges not even including the 8 it came with. I will NEVER buy another HP product again! Customer Service is terrible & they blateinaly lie about the functions & production of this printer. Note: whatever you read on an HP box, go
on-line & read their "fine print".
this is the 2nd 8500 printer that I bought, liked the 1st one but started having problems after 1 yr,bought another one,and having problems within 3 weeks..plus ink is very expensive and you can't use this cartridge in any other printer.would not recommend this printer to anyone
Large Screen, 2 Side Print, Esy Can Use,
because, I Like this Printer.
when I would like recommend this product to my frend or Relation person.
Decided on the Premium Plus for it's wireless and paper handling quantity. The primary tray works fine but the second (bottom) tray is somewhat cheaply made and tends to be troublesome to close. As for the printing...very good. Loaded with features and relatively quiet. Looks great on my desk! If you're considering an 8500 Pro Premium, the single tray model is a better bargain. All in all, i'm satisfied with this printer.
I am getting great service from this machine, I had an Officejet Pro L7960 and thought it was great; but the 8500A is greater.
