Great product, choose your vendor carefully

I've been using my LaserJet 5P for over 20 years. It's slow and black and white, but it keeps on ticking. The toner cartridges for this printer are apparently piling up in back rooms and warehouses as people move up to fancier new printers, so can be had at bargain prices -- under $10 apiece, compared with $165 list, and $35 or so street. Don't worry about getting an out-of-date cartridge -- HP says they never expire as long as the packaging is intact. And, if you get unopened HP packaging, a free shipping label to return the empty to HP for recycling is included. Read the fine print in the eBay listing and avoid any vendor who doesn't provide the unopened HP packaging. Without that, there's no guarantee you're getting the real McCoy.

Bargain

This cartridge works; It keeps our old HP laser printer printing out copy after copy at an affordable price. What more needs to be said?

HP Quality at generic price? What is NOT to like about that?

When you replace the cartridge in your HP laser printer you use the cartridge, right? The HP boxes are pretty but lend NO function to the cartridge, so why not save money and get a GENUINE HP cartridge that has been put in a generic box? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Cartidge is a Genuine HP product, was in the original HP anti-static bag with the pull tab intact. Put the cartridge in my LaserJet 5 MP and the printer is a happy camper, making excellent prints as it has since I bought the printer in 1995.

I don't know whether it is the chemical composition of the toner or something about the way it is processed, but genuine HP cartridges have always made better prints in this printer than other cartridges I've used. What was the best part was to be able to get a NEW genuine HP cartridge for less than the price of your typical remanufactured one.

avoid

I would suggest avoiding this vendor. I have purchased from them a few times in the past. I always get 2 toner cartridges; 1 always works fine and the 2nd is BAD. I just plugged in the second cartridge and it prints black toner on the whole page. In the past I've notified them and they send a 2nd cartridge that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Considering I was purchasing what were suppose to be NEW cartridges, this type of problem should not occur on a recurring basis.
