Guitar Hero: Aerosmith - XBOX360

Review For: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (Xbox 360, 2008)
First of all, you need to know that this game is just filler (like Rocks the 80s was for PS2). You also need to know that this game is NOT for people who like the present, or 90s version of Aerosmith. This game fronts the 70s Aerosmith. I bought this game because I wanted to play more guitar hero. I personally just like variety, and after playing through all songs on expert on GH2, GH3, and Rock Band, I wanted something new to play. After reading the opinions online, I decided to buy it cheaper than 59.99 and it was a good idea. This game is just like what the forums said, "don't buy this for more than 19.99 or you will be disappointed." I played through it on Expert without failing any songs. Sad. And no "Crazy," "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing," "Cryin'," "Jaded," or any of Your Favorite Aerosmith songs. Be prepared to hear a bunch of crap they played back before they knew what they were doing. I don't understand - you play as the band going from the 70s and being unknown, to rock stardom, but they leave out the 90s, and instead they insert Run DMC!?!?
The extra characters are the band members and Run DMC. Booo. There are some extra outfits and styles for the regular characters, and a double-necked guitar for those who 5 star all songs on the Hard or Expert difficulty.
Buy it on eBay, or wait until its on the Clearance rack.

"Guitar Hero - Aerosmith" is a great game for the whole family to enjoy. It's simplistically based color coded touch activated controls are fantastically arranged and it's a really fun game for people just learning to play. While Aerosmith is the main band scheme, it also favors several bands of the same genre. Bands that Aerosmith has inspired, and even the bands that inspired Aerosmith!!!
I rated the game 4/5 stars due to it's lack of music selection. While it does have several choices from the bands greatest hits/and some award winning songs, it doesn't differentiate from the regular narrow view of the "Guitar Hero" accesories. If you wish to use a "Rock Band 2" guitar you are out of luck. This game is NOT RockBand accesory ready. BE ADVISED! Look at the instruments availability before purchasing these games!! ACTIVISION keeps a tight grip on which products are released to use with these games! HEY, for $12 you can't beat it!!!Do not overpay, it's really not worth more than $12!!!!!
Thanks for reading!

ps3's Guitar Hero Aerosmith
Created: 06/30/08
Guitar Hero Aerosmith is a great game much like Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock however, there is only about 40 songs and a few bonus tracks. If It would have had around 20-30 more songs on the main play list it would have been perfect 10/10 100% awesome. It is still a really great game that allows you to play a few random but good/well known songs at the beginning of each song set and then brings aerosmith onto the stage with a few of their songs. Guitar Hero Aerosmith does have 1 guitar battle at the end of the game and unlocks an additional song at the end as well. One of the things that I really like about this game is that the vault where you can purchase songs, guitars, finishes, videos, etc has tons on top of tons of guitars for sale. Most of them being under the "special" category. I give this game 5/6 star rating. It has amazing graphics, grade A songs, and just as much heart and soul as any of the previous guitar hero games.

guitar hero 3 - new cover

Review For: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (Xbox 360, 2008)
dont get me wrong, this game is fantastic. If you are an aerosmith fan (even just a tiny bit) you will love this game. Im not thrilled with the other bands and tracks on the game but thats ok. In a round about way though, this game is exactly like guitar hero 3 with a new face. the subtleties are phenomenal, including Joe perrys use of a talk box on sweet emotion (you can see the plastic tube coming from the characters mouth). The games overall difficulty seems to stretch a little more than the previous installment which is great for beginners to the game. so yes, the game is totally worth every penny.
As for the hardware, i didn't purchase the "aerosmith" les paul but im assuming it is the same as what came with GH3. great axe, but i did have to make some modifications. After awhile the sensitivity doesnt work and my yellow button wouldnt work. i had to open up the neck and move some stuff around (you can find fixes on youtube.com and other places) after that the guitar has worked perfectly. Compared to the rockband original, i love the strum bar. much tighter.
Check out the game. The only reason i didnt give it an excellent is because i didnt feel it did enough to change from GH3. There are some excellent segways showing the guys in the band and interviewing them which is awesome, and the venues are decent (nipmuck high is cool, after that it gets a little more average). but check it out, enjoy it, rock hard.

Great Game

Review For: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (Xbox 360, 2008)
The game is considered an expansion in the Guitar Hero series, extending upon the general features of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. As with other games in the series, the player uses a guitar-shaped controller to simulate the playing of rock music by playing in-time to scrolling notes on-screen. It is the first game in the series to primarily focus on the work of one rock band, with Aerosmith songs comprising approximately 60% of the soundtrack, while the remaining songs are from bands that have been influenced by or opened for Aerosmith. The single player Career mode allows the player to follow the history of the band through several real-world-inspired venues, interspersed with interviews from the band members about their past. Aerosmith re-recorded four songs for this game, and have participated in a motion capture session to create their in-game appearances.
