Movie synopsis
Joe Dante's hilariously funny, wickedly scary film is about a loveable, furry little Christmas gift that multiplies into many little Christmas gifts, with savage consequences. Rand Peltzer (Hoyt Axton) is an inventor who hasn't successfully invented anything. But this Christmas he's bringing his family something special--a small, cuddly creature known as a mogwai. The little fella comes with three crucial instructions. He's not to be fed after midnight, he's not to get any direct light and he should never be given so much as a drop of water. If Rand and his son Billy (Zach Galligan) can adhere to these rules they can avoid the otherwise tragic consequences. Unfortunately, the rules are harder to stick to than it seems, and suddenly Billy finds himself with far too many "pets," all with big appetites. It's up to Billy and his girlfriend (Phoebe Cates) to stop the mischievous gremlins before they ruin Christmas for the residents of rural Kingston Falls. GREMLINS features a delightful combination of horror and humor that introduced Gizmo and his wild relatives to an entire generation of young fans.

Gremlins(1984), Hoyt Axton, Zach Galligan

Remember the three rules, light could kill it, don't give it a drop of water and don't feed it after mindnight. Those are the three rules of the mogwai. Billy, (Zach Galligan) gets an early Christmas present from his father, which happens to be a mogwai named Gizmo. Of course the rules are ignored, so Billy and his girlfriend Kate, (Phoebe Cates) must track down and destory the population of the Gremlins before they wreck havoc on the town, which happens to consist of the Hill Vally square in a blanket of snow, preceeding the Back To The Future trilogy. Joe Dante,(who also did Honey, I Shrunk The Kids & Small Soliders) helped Steven Spielberg achieve an award for the special effects. The film was a box office and was considered part of the pop culture of the films of the 80s.

Caotic christmas

Short and sweet .Keep up.An inventer walks into an old chinese store hoping to sell him something, when he hears this small creature humming in a cage.He wants to buy the creature, but the old chinese man says no.With this creature(Gizmo, his name)comes great responsibility. The inventer leaves, but the chinese mans nephew follows him out and sells Gizmo to him because they needed the money. You must follow 3 rules in order to have him.Sure,sure.1st.He doesn't like brite light, you will kill him.2nd Never feed him after midnight. And 3rd,whatever you do , never get him wet!!So,he takes him home and gives Gizmo to his teenage son and explains the rules to him.Sure enough, the teenager gets Gizmo wet ,which actually makes him multiply into about 5 or 6 more. Then you guessed it,He inadvertantly feeds them after minight. This causes them to go into a metamorphases and transform into new creatures. Each with its'own unique personality.Mean and conkniving. To make a long story short with vaigue details. All hell breaks loose and they must kill thousands that are loose on the town destroying and for them, having fun. They finally kill them with the break of morning daylight and exposing them to the bright light.Great and funny movie

So fun to watch!!

Gremlins, is one of those truly great movies that has everything to offer. You will laugh and you will get scared, you may even cry! I first saw this movie when I was little and I've loved it ever since. Never thought about buying it on DVD until I saw it in someone's ebay store, right on! It brings back such great memories. It's the perfect movie for everyone to enjoy, but especially fun to watch late at night! You will fall in love with Gizmo and cheer him on throughout the movie. Gremlins 2 (the second movie) is also a MUST BUY! Without the second it's not complete so make sure you purchase both of them.

I highly recommend this movie. 5 stars out of 5 for a great adventure!!

Blast from the Past

I recently purchased the Gremlins on dvd. I watched it dozens of times as a kid and wanted to have it in my collection. Great movie! Unlike no other. I remember going to the theater and seeing Gremlins II, but never watched it since and don't remember now what it was about. However, the original will go down in history! So funny now, although as a kid I remember being kinda weireded out, thinking that they were real!
Good cast, cute flick.
