Publisher's Note
A coach and sports psychologist presents anecdotes about the golfers he has worked with while offering advice on how to handle the mental aspects of golfing and accept personal potentials and limits

Dr. Bob Rotella is one of the hottest performance consultants in America today. Among his many professional clients are Nick Price (last year's Player of the Year), Tom Kite, Davis Love III, Pat Bradley, Brad Faxon, John Daly, and many others. Rotella, or "Doc", as most players refer to him, goes beyond just the usual mental aspects of the game and the reliance on specific techniques. What Rotella does here in this extraordinary book, and with his clients, is to create an attitude and a mindset about all aspects of a golfer's game, from mental preparation to competition. The most wonderful aspect of it all is that it is done in a conversational fashion, in a dynamic blend of anecdote and lesson. And, as some of the world's greatest golfers will attest, the results are spectacular. Golfers will improve their golf game and have more fun playing.

Great Book

Created: 04/15/09
While playing Golf with a Club Professional I mentioned that I had lost my Competative desire to win and was having trouble getting back in that frame of mind. He suggested the book I purchased and was correct in his selection. It gives one the desire to want that edge to compete with better players and do your best to win. It has helped my mental attitude and helps in your general everyday desire to do ones best. GREAT BOOK! I can not find anything about the book that is negative.

Good read, although I don't golf, I read it to help improve my sporting clays game. Within the first three chapters a light bulb came on and I was able to identify the mistakes in my own game. I recommend this book for those who want to improve. It is a good "crossover" that could relate to many sports or activities.

Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect

The book is a collection of short chapters designed to illustrate how we all have control over not only our golf game but our lives as well. The author does an excellent job of illustrating how to take and maintain control over those things in our golf game that we all claim are out of our control. In the process, he effectively illustrates how those same principles and attitudes can be easily translated to our everyday lives. An easy, informative and entertaining read. It will make you examine not only your approach to your golf game, regardless of your handicap, but to your life as well. Not the usual "self help" tome.
