Where GOLD differs from its predecessor, however, is in its focus; while STAND BACK draws from the years 1969 to 2002, GOLD hones in on the blues-rock group's '69-'79 heyday. Over that 10-year period, the band's surprisingly eclectic aesthetic would flow between the complex, jazz-tinged grooves of "Don't Want You No More" and the southern-soul vibe of "Midnight Rider." Although every record from this era garners at least one track, the first four Allman Brothers Band albums, including AT THE FILLMORE EAST, deservedly, get the majority of the running time. Fans looking for a focused, yet extensive compilation of the band at their peak can't go wrong with GOLD.

Glad I bought it.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

The quality of the recording is good. One of the cds has more "good&quot; songs on it than the other does. "Blue Skies" is my favorite, since I especially like Dickie Betts, so I keep the lesser cd with that and "Ramblin Man" on it, while my husband keeps the better cd in his truck. I am happy with my purchase.

All in One. Two Actually.

I think that Duane Allman was the best American musician ever. His sudden passing ended an already great music career. Sometimes I order MP3's and make an album of my favorite songs by a band. I have made them with only five songs. This album took two disc for 30 songs.

Gold in Altanta

If there a compilation of Allman Brothers greatest hits and those hard to find goodies that you normally buy the ablum so you can have it, This is it. Southern rock at it's best. A must!!

Gold by Allman Brothers Band

The Brothers transport me from simple images of the wonder of nature - acoustic guitar as gentle and tender as sunlight on a blade of grass - to the most raw and human of emotions. That so much talent is encased in one band is a musical gift that I appreciate now more than ever.
