The Academy Award Nominee's filmmaker J. Fox was offered $100,000 from a large oil conglomerate to drill for natural gas. Mr. Fox discovers that this "discovery" of gas stretches over 34 STATES! The methods used to extract the gas are in question. That method is called "fracking". A "Must-See"!
Gasland is eye-opening and informative. Very scary in terms of what the oil and gas industry is doing to our natural resources. Even scarier when you look at the drilling maps across the country in terms of the toxic and hazardous chemicals that are being used and are polluting our ground waters. Check out the free Ted-X (The Endocrine Disruption Exchange)documentary about health hazards of these chemicals with real reports from industrial accidents which should be viewed after Gasland. Check out the High Country News article in which EPA links fracking with ground water and aquifer contamination in Wyoming after a 3 year study. Check out the increasing incidence of earthquakes in areas where fracking is occuring. Worst of all, why is Royal Dutch Shell and other foreign corporations drilling and extracting our minerals for export to other countries? Are we the new developing nation to be exploited? What is Congress thinking? Start with Gasland. It's great!
A FANTASTIC documentary!!!!! I'm actually sickened by each and every gas drilling commercial that is a self-propagandized "feel good" portrayal of how eco-friendly they are and how good for the environment and how much money they pump into local communities...gee, seems the only thing they neglect is telling the public is that once they start "fracking" everyone around them is able to set their water on fire!!! Actual FIRE!!! Just by turning on the kitchen water faucet and holding a flame to it. I urge EVERYONE to watch this documentary and share it with anyone and everyone you know or love.
It truly scares the hell out of me that this is happening in the 21st century!

I can say, there was not a single thing I did not about this documentary. I wish everyone in the U.S. would take the time to watch this film. Very informative, makes you want to get up and make a difference. I can only hope it has some sort of impact on our government.
This should be required viewing in High school. Anyone whose watched it is amazed how little we really know about the energy we use and at what cost. Never boring!
