Garmin nuvi 265WT Automotive GPS Receiver

Easily the best value of any GPS unit I've come
across. Packed with features, it has everything
that I was looking for. 4.3" widescreen, real time
traffic updates free for life, and the bluetooth
handsfree technology for your cell phone. I looked
at the Insignia model from Best Buy which had the
same features but only gave the traffic updates
free for 6 months. With this Garmin model you
never pay for them. I think the only feature that
this model doesn't have is voice recognition. I couldn't find any Garmin models that had it, I found a Magellan model that you could speak the
directions to, but I just didn't feel that one
feature was absolutely necessary for me. And the price I was able to get on eBay was outstanding.

I have been using various GPS units for going on 20 years now. Garmin has always been my favorite, and this one is no exception. It has a ton of useful features, traffic sensing/avoiding, easy to use destination searching, bluetooth linking to phone (which makes the calling a hotel/restaurant you just searched for easy), even adding 3rd party POI (Points of Interest) is easy. I personally have added a 34rd party Red Light/Speed Camera warning system and all the Harley Davidson dealers in the US into the database.

My only complaint about the unit, as compared to my previous Garmin units, is with the sound. I wish they didn't take away the manual "wheel dial" to adjust the volume of the unit. You can adjust the volume, but you have to go to a specific menu and raise or lower it there. More annoying is that while the turn by turn directions, red light camera warnings, even the volume from playing an MP3 song is set perfectly, when I am talking on my phone via the bluetooth link, about 75% of the time, the volume is WAY TOO LOW (even when I have it set to 100%). I'm not sure it is the unit itself, or how it is linked to my iPhone, but my old Garmin did not have this problem, nor can I seem to resolve this issue.

this is the best GPS i think for the money.even though its an older model .I bought it because i can have one in each of my cars .and not have to transferr from one car to another.Also buy a spare battery they are cheap and easy to replace.This also has a 4 hour battery life..i dont like a builtin GPS as if i borrowed or rented a car i can use it in the car of the moment .also i can carry it in my pocket if im walking and i have a home charger for it also..most phone GPSsystems require a monthly service fee.. this does not ..and even if your map is old it works fine there are ways to get free map updates or at a reduced cost ..and its blutooth also..i have had my original one for over 3 years and use it every day with no problems ever..another nice feature is the DEAD ON accuracy of the speed indicator as my cars speedos are off enough to get me a ticket in a speed trap ..I preferr to mount mine on the front windshield so i can see the speed and distance im traveling far more safer then the factory speedo.

This Garmin Nuvi 265WT is an excellent GPS receiver, easy to use. Is a very great tool to find your destination, you can get the directions, conect a cell phone via bluetooth, and use it as a hand free.
It's widescreen allow you to view more details on the maps.
