I had a Nuvi 855 for a few years and very much liked its voice activation feature, but it occasionally locked and had to be rebooted through battery removal. The 2460LT is better in all respects than the prior model, and the fact that it does not need the remote button to activate voice command makes it much easier to transfer for car to car (though you have to take the base and cord with you). The display is huge and beautiful. Much appreciated is that it shows the street you approach rather than the street on which you're currently driving, and that it does not announce "recalculating" when you deviate from its suggested routing; it just silently deals with it. The notification of photo-enforced intersections works well but is puzzling in concept, as it implies it's worse to run a red light where there are cameras than where there are no cameras. The traffic function seems to be limited to major highways but describes how far the traffic extends and announces "traffic ahead" as soon as you get on that route. It's also figured out on its own when I'm going home and calculates the time. There is nothing bad to say about this unit. It demonstrates that the state of the art is getting very good.
I'm blown away! I love this unit! It has every feature I want, and although I haven't been able to try the bluetooth function because of a malfunctioning Android phone, it's not because of the GPS. I'm staying with Garmin forever, and I'll buy from this store again!
