Garmin nuvi 1390T Automotive GPS Receiver

I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 1390T Mobil GPS Receiver to replace an older model that was stolen. I researched Garmin's web site, and compared Ebays choices. I purchased this unit through Bing by using PayPal and the Buy It Now procedure. The price of the unit was well below MSRP, and I receive a 8% rebate on top of it.
What I like about this GPS is its versatility. I live in the suburbs of a large city in the Northeast. The Nuvi 1390T enables me to access traffic reports, and has a pedestrian option.So when I visit the city, I can use the unit for help with train and bus schedules. I love its thin profile and 4.3" screen. However, the GPS car power cord must be plugged into the accessory/lighter to receive the FM-traffic report. This cord does interfer with auto options: ac, radio, and heater controls.
Overall I am pleased with my choice,(granted it has only been a week or two).

Go Beyond Navigation

Really, no major complaints, except this: I can't edit the address information for a waypoint. Why can't one add the address of a waypoint selected manually? That is a real head-scratcher. This was possible with the iQue 3600 and is with other models made by other manufacturers. However the sat. pickup is great (much better than the 3600) and the interface easier to use as a nav tool.

But nothing compares to the 3600; that was an awesome piece of work. It was a bit fragile, and transferring waypoints was not possible (I blame Garmin for this), and I feel they abandoned that model way too early. That was a big mistake and for this I shall never forgive them.

*sigh*

But aside all that, yeah, I like this wee GPS. It's tough to follow in the footsteps of a successful older sibling, so my heart goes out to it. :)

Looks pretty nice. Thin. Easy to use. The bluetooth is greatand pairs nicely with a bluetooth phone. Fantastic user interface. Would suggest highly for anyone who want speech for streets. Find closest gas/timmies ect...good buy

Great Unit..Upon startup program loads and links up with sattelites fast. Love the ability to enter my MPG and fuel cost to calculate my speeds into gas and ultimatly money savings. I use this unit on my Motorcycle while traveling and find it easy to use. The volume setting is loud enought to hear at highway speeds on the bike and I have some pretty loud aftermarket pipes also.. The detail on the directions and information given is accurate and does not "skip" thru the screen as you go, rather scrolls semlessly. Overall I am very hapy with the 1390T and would reccomend it to my family and friends
