I have an older Garmin c530 which is costly to update; also batteries are near the end of life cycle. The features on the 1350LMT are much improved. Distance and street names are spoken. Unit is slimmer and fits well on dash; has larger display. Also very portable.
Lifetime maps are a must. Would not consider without the map updates. Price is competitive on Ebay making it a better deal than updating older system. Has features I probably won't use so no need for all the "bells & whistles" on more expensive units.

With so many GPS units on the market, it was difficult to choose. But the Garmin nuvi 1350LMT is a sophisticated receiver for the money. Quick to upload recent maps and easy for the beginning user, I appreciate Garmin's "Where Am I?" interface, which allows the user to branch out from wherever the unit is, finding services and avenues quickly and efficiently. My only beef with the unit is its tendency to freeze up when using the traffic feature. It's easily rectified by restarting, but if I need a quick lane change or exit to avoid a traffic jam, I foresee a problem. I haven't used it much yet, but it is fun to listen to it recognizing familiar routes, downloading voices and vehicles, and letting it talk me out of a queer corner of the city. Well recommended for the price! Garmin is trustworthy. (In an ideal world, it would also have an external ear jack.)

This unit is wonderful. I purchsed it so I may find my way here in Dubai, UAE. After downloading the map (Asia), it performed miracles. I have been here in Dubai gfor some months now and never attempted driving due the difficult road design here. I entered some places and went on a drive. I had no problems getting to where I needed to be. The re-calculations worked great and were very, very fast, even when detours were present. The map is up-to-date and guided me accurately.
This is a great unit and I am very confident with using it. The voice is clear and it gives the directions with adequate time to adjust to any traffic conditions. I could drive normally and did not have to create any hazardous reactions. The map is clear and very detailed. Thank You Garmin for this unit. It has given me a much added appreciation of Dubai now that i can get out to the sites. I strongly recommend this unit for all overseas travelers.

The Garmin Nuvi 1350LMT gives the consumer the best bang for the buck. The feature laden device includes lifetime map updates and lifetime traffic advisory service. The interface is extremely intuitive enabling the user to master the main features within minutes. The time to power up the unit is much faster than the Magellan Roadmate products and its small form factor allows easy portability. I highly recommend this product.
