Excellent unit for the money! I bought this gps for hunting and so far I am very impressed! The only set back is that it will occasionally lose reception under thick cover and will not work very well in a vehicle or inside your home. I would not recommend this unit to someone who plans on using it as their sole means of navigation. If you only use the bearing pointer on this unit you will get lost. It does not calculate heading info based on magnetic north. Instead, it calculates your heading based upon your track over the ground and is not very reliable. This is a discontinued item, and from what I've read, the newer "high sensitivity" models will perform better under thick cover. That being said, I have found this unit very useful in conjunction with my compass. I use the gps to calculate bearing and distance to a waypoint, then I turn it off and use my compass to navigate. I have also downloaded map source topo which I have found to be a very nice feature. In conclusion, if you are familiar on how to use a compass, and are looking for an accurate gps unit to pinpoint your location, you won't find a better item for the price.

I love this GPS unit! I have owned about 6 different units, and this one is by far the easiest to use, lasts the longest on batteries and the software is everything I need it to be. I thought about upgrading to the Cx series, but the internal memory on this one is more than enough storage, and unless I start traveling from state to state, can't ever see a need for more.

It's easy to amaze my friends with the accuracy and multiple applications on the Legend C. And to be honest with you, I never read the manual! It's all from sitting down and playing with it. Maybe I'll check out the manual and learn some new tricks!

I drive a lot with my job, and I bought the optional dash mount and 12v cord. It makes it very easy to get where I'm going. I also have a mount on my ATV, and it's cool to sync with the Trips and Waypoints Manager software and see exactly where we went, how far, and you can even break down the trips by days.

Excellent GPS unit for the Pro or the wanna be pro. You will not be dissapointed with this GPS from Garmin!

This GPS works for my primary need which is marking underwater structure at my favorite lakes. On the screen the lakes dont show up unless it's a major body of water. The smallest local lake that shows up as water is 7,000 acres. I really wanted it for this and for traveling. I thought it had turn by turn in it but it doesnt. You can purchase City Navigator for about $100 to give it turn by turn. I don't like that it only has internal memory and wont except the Lake Hot Spots card(which I knew when I bought it.) It's a wonderful easy to see color screen and would be great for hiking. Had I been able to play with it before the purchase I would have spent the extra money to upgrade to a model that accepts SD cards and already has good basemaps and turn by turn!!!!

Good Price, easy to use.. Nice compact size for ease of carrying in a horse pack etc.. I have been looking for a GPS for awhile, happy I found this one on Ebay for the good price. I've been lost once, hopefully never again with this GPS Thanks!

I purchased this for geocaching, and it works really well! Very accurate and easy to use. Didn't have to read the instructions to field test it the first time. Small and light weight. Perfect for sticking in your pocket and hiking with!
