GE Digital answering mechine

My long time AT&T answering machine finally bit the dust and the Company no longer makes that particular model, so I did a search for another machine that would be as user friendly and ended up with this GE brand. it is the right size for a small table I used for messages next to my cordless phone. the controls are easy enough to use and the recording time is more then enough at 40 minutes total
I found it every bit as user friendly as my old AT&T unit however the one factor
I had not considered and was not even aware of until after I had made my purchase was that so called "stand alone" answering machines such as the one I am describing do not work well with,and in fact are not compatible with cordless phone systems which as mentioned above is exactly what I have (and don't' care to change) the end result being you cannot understand incoming messages and end up with a gravel sound coming through the speaker. this has no barring on the unit itself because it works just fine in all respects when connected to a non cordless phone. it simply means you never use these systems with a cordless phone period. I need to also mention the price was quite reasonable. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this machine for any regular phone system, In my particular case I ended up going to voice mall and am keeping the unit as a back up.

I find this answering machine is good for a home or work shop phone line. It has been reliable so far and easy to record outgoing messages and monitor incoming calls. No tapes or cartriges to change or replace makes it almost care free. Very useful and a great value.

Answering is ON! Real Professional-Not Real X-Pensive!!

I decided to buy it because it didn't cost an arm and a leg! It had all the techniques that I was looking for, yet it was an affordable price also. My answering machine had been messing up, so I decided to trash it. This answering machine gives the time of day that you received your call, lets you record your own outgoing message, and stores several messages. It was the ideal message machine I was looking for: Low price, advanced, easy to work and understand, and easy to purchase!! I love it!! Horsesr4me-123

An honest answering machine.....

So, I got tired of all the telemarketers and decided to simply turn off my ringers and get rid of all of the call waiting, messaging, and forwarding I was paying for every month. I had to keep the phone line for DSL, but instead I use my cell phone for communications. This answering machine simply tells everyone that I don't answer the phone anymore. They can call my cell or send me an email, otherwise, they can drop dead. As for the answering machine, it is just that. It is quite reliable and easy to set up. When you record your message, don't get too close to the machine. Also, if you want an especially clear message, put a blanket over yourself and the machine to block any outside noises. About my only complaint with the machine is the playback speaker is about the size of a quarter, so you may have a little trouble understanding people, but, for my uses, no problem

Excellent product!

My old answering machine was broken and I needed a new one. This one was the best price, made by a reputable manufacturer, has a small footprint and all the functions I needed. It has met all my needs and fits in the smallest space which is important since I don't have much counter space. I haven't missed a single message since I got it and I can easily retrieve my messages while I am away from home. Job hunting is hard enough without worrying about missed messages and this little device was the perfect answer.
