) If you want a reliable radio with lots of bells and whistles, the Galaxy DX-88HL fits the bill nicely. It has all the same functions as the Galaxy DX-99V except it doesn't have that annoying "Robot" feature in the voice changer. I've been an over the road trucker for 37 years and Galaxy radios has been my preferred choice. The 88HL is loud and clear, but sounds best with a Turner RK56 mike. The keys to any radio sounding great are a good "tune and align" by a QUALIFIED radio tech, a decent microphone, top quality coax and antenna. The 88HL is no exception. Do these things and this unit will give you years of enjoyment!
