I bought this camera to repair and re-sell. I ended liking the camera so much that I have decided to keep it to use as a take along camera for the fun times with the grand kids. I normally use a DSLR camera and it is a hassle to take it when I take them to the park or the like.
I found the size to be perfect for carrying in a pocket. The case that came with it also has a attachment for a belt or belt loop.
The picture quality is very good, great color with very good saturation and sharp pictures. The color was very accurate. The reds and blues were very good, although bright reds seemed to be a little harder for the camera to render accurately. A couple of times these would be a little on the magenta end of the scale. I will say that Fuji is not kidding when say to keep the front glass in front of the lens clean. If the glass gets dirty, the pictures are definitely affected. The only real negative that I have to say on the camera is that when using the flash, the shutter lag is noticeable and makes it difficult to use the flash with small kids. One big plus is the 14MP size. This gives you a large file that allows you to crop the picture extensively and still get a sharp, high quality print.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the video from the camera, it was able to take very good video in an indoor setting. The ability to use the zoom while taking video is also a very nice feature. The sound for the video is not impressive, but what I expected from a camera this size. While I have not had a chance to use the camera underwater yet, but I expect that it will perform very well in that setting also.
I found the camera to be equal to and in most ways better than most point and shoot cameras. For example, I found that the time between shoots on the Fuji was quite a bit shorter that the Canons and Olympus point and shoot cameras that I have used. The video was of better ability and I was able to shoot video in low light with good results.
In conclusion I found the XP20 to be a pleasant surprise in terms of overall quality and ease of use. It is a very good camera that does as it is intended to do. I don't believe that you can ask for more than that from a product.

Great camera - if it works. Had 2, BOTH were NOT waterproof, had to be sent in. Snorkeling in shallow water. Latch fully closed. A friends too. Costco informed me that this was common, they even stopped selling it. Fuji realized their mistake, and redesigned the battery door, much better now. Good thing is, Fuji's service dep was very helpful. But I still have not gotten camera 2 back, lets hope they upgrade it...
It is hard to take indoor pictures if the light is low, but taking into account the other capabilities (waterproof, shock resistant, other picture modes) and price it is definitely worth it.
What an Awesome camera! I've only had mine for a few days now, but so far I've tested it for the drop shock, which it fell more than five feet and still performed great, and living in Maine, we just had a snow storm, temps below the 14 degrees that it states, and the camera worked just fine with out fogging up the images. I have checked the blur for active movements, it caputres dancing and kung fu movements great, even better than my last Fuji camera. I am most pleased with the night/dim light feature. I was able to catch a clear video of my son playing a video game in a pitch dark room with only light generating from the game itself. It captured the video clearly! That is better clarity than any of my previous cameras, even my older Fuji. I love the FinePix line, they are great products and the XP20 is wonderful for all my needs. Now I just need to test it out underwater!
