Movie synopsis
A collection of two stories detailing the adventures of Frosty the Snowman. In the classic original program, Frosty comes to life thanks to an old magician's hat and must make his way to the North Pole. In "Frosty Returns" a lonely girl helps Frosty defeat a tycoon who has invented a machine to eliminate snow., Jimmy Durante narrates this classic tale about a snowman who is brought to life by magic. Karen (June Foray) is a lonely girl. Neglected by her parents, she spends her time building snowmen. One day, she discovers a mysterious hat rumored to be the property of an evil magician. Karen wishfully bestows the snowman with the hat and to her delight, Frosty (Jackie Vernon) magically comes to life. Frosty and Karen quickly become the best of friends, and there seems to be no end in sight to their good times--until the sun threatens to melt Frosty. Accompanied by Karen, he sets out for the cool refrigeration of the North Pole, but when the evil magician learns of their plans, he's hot on their trail. Once again Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass deliver yet another heartwarming holiday Christmas tale. Originally aired in 1969, FROSTY THE SNOWMAN has been rerun on network television ever since. Film icon Durante lends appropriately cool vocals as the storyteller of the much-loved movie, which is based on the popular song of the same name.

Frosty The Snowman - A Christmas Classic

This is one of the "must own" shows for anyone who is in love with Christmas. Narrated by Jimmy Durante, whose singing of the title song is unforgettable, the excellance of Rankin-Bass animation shines thru in this video. There are simply tooooo many classic,memorable lines in this to choose specific ones for here.

Review For: Frosty the Snowman (DVD, 2007)

With my daughters recent fascination with snowmen, buying Frosty the Snowman was a no brainer. As a child, I looked forward to watching this on television every year and now we can watch it all the time. My toddler loves Frosty and it is a true classic. The Bonus Frosty Returns was made at a much later date. (I think the 90s)It is not very good in my opinion. It looks like someone was trying to make a political statement about global warming or what it would be like without snow and really looses the fun message of the original Frosty the Snowman.

Classic Christmas DVD

Frosty the Snowman is one of my favorite childhood Christmas movies. It is wonderful to have it on DVD to share with my children and one day my grandchildren. I love the naration by Burl Ives. This is a movie you never outgrow. It is a classic like Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.

A FAMILY FUN MOVIE FOR A COLD AFTERNOON!!!!

This is a family fun movie, sure to make you kids smile. I bought this for my son, age 5, and he loves it. It has him singing and dancing all around the room. It helped him to use his imagination more watching frosty come to life with the magic hat, and since this movie I have found him exploring more options with "magic" in his own play. Not to mention a few "magic" ideas of how his milk got spilled or how the last cookie disappeared. A great movie for a cold afternoon indoors.

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN

I LOVE Frosty the snowman,its just not Christmas if you don't watch it or Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer.I look forward to this time of year so that I can watch them.Owning the movies,I can watch them anytime I want to through out the year but it's just not the same unless it's Christmas.
