|With the ability to test a 4-pair Cat 5 cable in 17 seconds, the DSP-2000 CableAnalyzer offers high-speed testing solutions. This digital cable analyzer can test several types of LAN cabling systems including UTP, FTP, STP (IBM type 1, 2, 6, 9), and coax. The Fluke Networks cable tester ensures accuracy, as it can detect and exclude sources of noise from its measurements. The DSP-2000 CableAnalyzer uses the CableManager software, which lets you quickly and easily organize, find, edit, print and save your cable information. The FAULT INFO feature of this digital cable analyzer pinpoints the location of link failure, and in lucid language, displays the diagnostics in a graphic representation. Further, the cable has a bright, back-lit display that enables easy viewing even in poor lighting conditions. The Fluke Networks cable tester is perfect for on-site use, thanks to its rugged construction.|

It's not a bad tester per se. It will definatly do the job, but it is not a level 3 tester it is only level 2. If this matters for your work you may need to look at something else. But it really is a good tester when it comes down to it. I've used a few. I believe it goes up to 155mhz during testing, and completes very, very quicky. Fluke provides a very nice interface software called linkware for it to download and create pdf reports. Should be noted it only does channel tests. No permanet link testing via the industry standards. However, you can get the FOM adapters and test Fiber Optics with this tester too. In the end it really is a good tester. Just for someone who's contract requires no less than a certain point it may not meet, but for us this one was never an issue. Again, I have used a few of these. It is a nice unit.
