Flip Video UltraHD 1hr 2nd Generation 4 GB Camcorder - White

Being a casual person who used to take pictures every now and then, I have found joy in the Flip camera. It does not have many features in the device itself, but it also doesn't need it. It can turn on, record, play back, remove unwanted videos, and zoom in and out. For someone who wants something simple and requires no knowledge on how to operate a video camera, look no further than the Flip.

Having owned the previous original Flip, the biggest complaint I have is the lack of rechargeable batteries. The original Flip had a battery built in and could recharge over USB. The newer Flip HD operates on two AA batteries, and you better make sure to buy a 16 pack of them because you will go by them fast if you like to record long videos. While you are limited to recording only up to an hour total of videos before you need to dump them to a computer, you might as well be limited by the batteries themselves for an hour.

The built in software makes backing up the videos very easy. It also has a built in video editor much like Windows Movie Maker, but I haven't messed with it (because I already like WMM and Adobe Premier). You can also upload to Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.

Ultimately, this is a very good digital camera for a normal home user, but the normal home user may want to invest in the rechargeable batteries that should have been included in the first place.

I cant say enough good things about this camera. So sad they discontinued this product. Great camera, soooo easy to use. Same size as a phone. Turn it on and its ready to go, no need to wait for loading or for it to get ready. Cant get anything better for this price.

I bought this product because of its ease of use and my daughter also has one notice how easy it was to use. I liked the size and its battery life is great. I really liked the price for this item as well.

This is the second Flip I have purchased. I do not know why Best Buy stopped carrying them. It is a great product especially for the price.

Bought my daughter one for christmas and she liked it so much, I decided to get one for myself. Lightweight, easy to use and carry and great HD video. 4GB gets you about an hour of HD quality video, great for on the go and vacations. For a few more bucks you can get the 8GB model which gives you 2 hours of video, but since I am not making a major motion picture the likes of Francis Ford Coppola, the 1 hour model gets the job done for me. Its great for those short "you-tube type" videos. Super easy to use and download to your laptop or pc, and with a HD (sold seperately) cable you can just watch the video on your HDTV if you wish. My personal advice: opt for the HD model for picture quality and shop around, with a little diligence you can find a new one for under $100.00!
