A Great Product but Things you should know.

The product is cool white and has a wonderful touch screen flip up screen. Turn it on its side--close the flip and the touchscreen operative recording display.

Weak Microphone. That's about it I had bought the Flip to record college classes and I couldn't hear the lecture.(25ft) I also used it to record competitive policy debates and still couldn't hear the competitors. (7ft) If you were thinking of buying it for these things don't.

Quality and Zoom. It may seem obvious but the tech for zoom is more in the software than the lens.

Flip Video Slide: Compact, easy to use, masterpiece of simplicity!

I purchased this product because it was highly recommended by an advisor. He was right! It is sooooooo simple to use. It is small and compact enough to fit easily into a purse--even an evening bag. Or a shirt pocket. To transfer pictures to a computer is a masterpiece of simplicity. Just "flip" open the connection and plug into the computer. No searching for the cable. The port is a part of the camera.

IT'S OUR FIRST TIME WITH A SMALL CAMERA, MY PHONE DOESN'T EVEN VIDEO OR TAKE PICTURES. YES, I'M OLD. OUR LAST CAMERA WAS SHOULDER HELD WITH A VHS TAPE. SO WE ARE IN SHOCK. BUT SURPRISINGLY WE FIGURED OUT HOW TO WORK THIS W/O A BIG INSTRUCTION BOOKLET & DOING A PRETTY GOOD JOB.
WE'RE AMAZED AT THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURES & AFTER A BIT FOUND THE VOLUME & WOW, IT'S GREAT.
ALL BY OURSELVES WE HOOKED IT TO THE TV (AFTER BUYING A SPECIAL CORD) & SAW WONDERFUL MOVIES. I ALSO HAVE TRANSFERRED TO MY COMPUTER, WHICH IF YOU KNEW ME YOU'D KNOW WHAT AN AMAZING FEAT THAT WAS. ANYWAY HAVE LOST SOME MOVIES IN CYBER S. BUT I KNOW I CAN FIND THEM SOMETIME. I EVEN SENT ONE IN AN EMAIL.
BATTERY LIFE SO FAR SEEMS GOOD. THE ONLY THING WE DON'T LIKE IS BECAUSE OF NO TAPE WHEN YOU SHUT IT OFF, YOU START A NEW MOVIE EACH TIME YOU TURN IT ON. NOT CONTINUOUS LIKE A VIDEO TAPE. BUT WE WILL GET USED TO THAT. IT'S ALL NEW BUT DO-ABLE.
SO IF YOU ARE OLD FASHIONED AND ARE AFRAID CAUSE THERE'S NO TAPES????WHAT THE???? IT'S EASY AND IT WORKS. THIS WAS A GIFT FOR MY HUSBAND WHO IS EVEN WORSE WITH NEW THINGS THAN ME. (HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A CELL PHONE).
OF COURSE THIS CAN'T COMPARE WITH OUR OLD SEARS CAMERA WITH THE BIG ZOOM AND MACRO LENS, BUT LOOK AT THE SIZE, QUALITY OF PICTURES JUST AS GOOD AND WE CAN ACTUALLY CARRY IT AND ALSO PUT IT IN YOUR POCKET. SO YES WE ARE HAPPY.
THE PRICE WAS SO CHEAP, GOT IT ON EBAY FOR 119.00 MIB (NEW) AND THEN ANOTHER 7.00 ON ANOTHER EBAY SPOT FOR THE CABLE. NOW I'M GOING TO TRACK DOWN THE ELEC. CORD CAUSE I DON'T LIKE CHARGING IT ON MY COMPUTER BUT THAT'S JUST ME. IT TAKES ABOUT 3 HRS. TO CHARGE AND I DON'T LIKE TO LEAVE MY COMPUTER ON BUT READ SOMEWHERE I CAN GET AN ELECTRIC CORD FOR CHARGING.

This is a GREAT product (flip video)

This is a GREAT product the Flip Video Slide. Funny everyone stands still, thinking it is a camera. It takes great video, and once you plug into your computer, you can print and of the video as pictures. Everyone should have one of these instead of a camera. GREAT product.

Great camera for value!

It's not the most high-tech video camera out there but for the price and ease of use, this is the best overall quality I could find. I needed something with a long lasting battery life to record hours of video and this measures up in duration as well as general ease of use. There are very few options but for home videos, YouTube videos, or general use there isn't really much need for lots of bells and whistles. I wouldn't take this to video a wedding or anything else you want high quality video of but for every day type stuff it's great!
