Fender Baja Telecaster

This is such a good Tele that it's hard to believe it's made in Mexico and not in the custom shop! I have had many Strats and Teles, but this is the best buy far. The neck is PERFECT! Interestingly, I once had a Jimmie Vaughan Strat and Fender uses the same language (soft V neck) to describe the neck on both guitars - they are vastly different. The Strat was a deep V and I never felt my hand was big enough for bar chords; the neck on the Tele feels more like a U shaped neck and fits my medium sized hand like it was specially made for me. The finish is beautiful, but the real story is the sound! All the traditional Tele sounds are available through two great pups, the S switch adds two more, and a 4th position on the pickup selector switch adds an additional two. I know that not every guitar is right for everybody; but, if you are going to buy a Tele (or even a Strat) you should check this one out.

Baja Telecaster - Fender

I am very happy with this guitar. It sounds phenomenal. The price was right. I bought it do to the price and the specs of the guitar. It's heavy and sustains well. It has a fat neck with a slight "V" and the pickups are wired 4-way with and S-1 switch to add even more sounds. I think the biggest mistake people make to these guitars is rewiring them to standard tele 3-way. That defeats the whole purpose of this guitar. It has the regular tele sounds anyway within the Baja wiring. I am very happy!

a great buy for the money

perfect neck (just like my Jimmie Vaughn strat but even wider), nice jumboish frets, the cool S-1 8 way switching, nice weight, great look and great sounding pickups make this a great buy. Mexican made but as good as any tele I've had in a long time. Don't pass these up. The 2007 models have the 60th anniversary badge on the back of the headstock too.

Most versatile Tele... at any price

I have a '52 reissue that I hang on the wall as a collectible. This is the Tele I'd play at a gig. Much more versatile with 6 possible switch settings. Classic Tele is there, but also able to get a fuller, fatter sound.
