Many years back I was actually in business with my brother in a vacuum cleaner shop,both sales & repair. The big sales point was the comparison between upright & canister vacuums. Both have their good and bad points.The canister has far more sucction due to its motor design but the upright agitates the carpet with its roller brush to loosen the dirt and direct it into the airflow created by the less powerful motor. The upright generally worked better on carpet & the canister was better for flooring & getting into places the upright couldn't such as behind refrigerators,the carpet edge that meets the wall & those spider webs that seem to appear over night in the strangest places. With the addition of the hose and tools to the upright the gap had narrowed. The only real differance then was the inconvenience of lugging the awkward upright around, I purchased this vacuum because it has the best of both worlds. It is light & easy to maneuver & with the easily attached motorized power brush it adds all the best carpet cleaning advantages of the upright plus has far more suction than most uprights. There were many occasions that people would buy two vacuums from us,one specifically for carpet & the canister for all the other odd jobs such as vacuuming out the car. I'm sure mine was not the only household in America that had two vacuums. Since purchasing the Euro-Flex it really does seem to have the best combination to fulfil the requirements of both. Even though vacuuming is never a pleasure no matter what machine you own at least this vacuum does do the job easier & better. The Euro-Flex is also very well built. There are a lot of simple features such as the suction control on the handle & the motor speed/vacuum control on the top of the unit that make the machine much more versatale. I am looking forward to it giving us many years of service but only time will tell. That's my story & I'm sticking to it. Thanks for listening. Sincerely, Noel
