Epiphone Les Paul Guitars (genuine ones) are Awesome
Created: 02/14/11
This is a super solid feeling guitar with a neck you can play lightning fast on. This styling is absolutely stunning. I have the red quilt top and get compliments on it wherever I go. The sound is crystal clear... could use a little more low end, but nothing that should deter anybody from buying one. I highly recommend it.
By make sure you buy a genuine one... there are some people knocking them off. Google "fake epiphone" and read the "The fake epiphone thread" for more details.

Don't need a Gibson, just tweak a Korean Epiphone Standard! Save your money

Almost as good as the Gibson if you find a Korean model. Change the pickups with Seymour Duncans, redo the wiring with old schematics and you can go head to head, face to face against any Gibson. Rock pro and save some money. This evaluation is for the Epiphone Les Paul Standard, NOT the LP100.

Not Bad for a Licensed Copy

Hello Everyone: I have owned a few Gibson Les Pauls and a Few Epiphone Les Pauls over the years, and I have seen both good and bad in terms of quality.
The Epiphones made in China are ok, you seriously have to play a bunch to find the right one, as with any guitar, I would recommend the Slash Model or 60 reissue over the regular standard, or the Elite model, see the one main complaint for guitar players is the electronics, replacign the electronics isn't cheap, pickups usually run $150 , then the pots, capacitor and switch another $40 , and if you have someone install it, so figure about $300 worht of work added to the initial price, the slash model has duncans installed, the zak wylde model has emg's installed, the 60 reissue has burstbuckers installed, also when buying the standard you have to be aware that Epiphone has stamped some of them USED, FACTORY USED, 2nd, or have the serial number rubbed out, on any epiphone that has had that done, I was told there is no warranty available for ones with that stamp, so buyer beware, also remember any guitar is only as good as the amplifier you are running it through, take care

THE GIBSON EPIPHONES I BUY AND SELL
Created: 12/02/08
Epiphone is a product that comes under the Gibson name. In most stores the Epiphone Standard sells for $399.00 to $499.00 dollars. The Epiphone Custom sells for $500.00 to $700.00 dollars and above. It has been my pleasure in obtaining these guitars while they are new at a much lower price. Because of that, I am able to pass the savings onto those who purchase my guitars. The Gibson Epiphone is a great guitar that will last a life time if take care of. The Les Paul model guitar is made for those who can't afford over $2,000.00 dollars for the real Gibson model. So far, each and every person who have won these on my auction have been completly satisfied. The only thing that I have a problem with. After selling one of the guitars, making sure that I pack it in such a way that it will not be damaged. This requires extra time and more packing material on my part, but well worth it. As long as the quality stays good from the place I get them from, people are still in the market for the Epiphone Les Paul, I will offer them. One thing I have to offer is the ability to get a color they may want. This way it will keep me up to date on what people are wanting, putting it up for auction, and the buyer paying at any where from $150.00 to $200.00 dollars less than what they would pay in the store. Any questions please feel free to ask. manchu70guitarrock

For the price...
Created: 03/09/11
It's excellent. I plugged it into a tube amp, and it roared. Gibson sound at an affordable price. It was made in Korea, where most seem to believe are made better than the ones made in China. Some of the made in China ones are in fact fake. Take a look here http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/epiphone-les-pauls/12286-fake-epiphone-thread.html
The above is only valid for models made in China after the year 2007.
