Extraordinary 1997 isse of a Sci-Fi NTSC VHS movie! Absolutely not what you'd expect. 2 enemies are forced to rely upon each other for survival and put aside their nations differences after crashing their space ships. Very memorable and thought provoking. Good special effects but the script and acting shine. This is one of those moves, that while not extraordinary, the memory of the film remains for years...... You probably need to preview the movie prior to children watching it to make a decision if it's suitable for them.
Extraordinary DVD Sci-Fi movie (re-issued in 2005)! Absolutely not what you'd expect. 2 enemies are forced to rely upon each other for survival after crash landing and must put aside their planetary differences. Very memorable and thought provoking - one of those rare movies that you will remember for years. Good special effects but the script and acting shine. Much better audio-visual presentation than the VHS issues of this movie.
In the distant future, an American space fighter pilot is shot down on an obscure planet along with the enemy that he was dog-fighting. The Human, Dennis Quade, now finds himself marooned along with his enemy, a lizardlike creature called a Drac, played by Louis Gossett Jr. Faced with the reality of being thrust together on a hostile world, they soon discover that unless they can put aside their individual prejudices and work together in cooperation, neither has much of a chance of survival. In the process, over time, they both come to realize that they each have much more in common with one another than either could imagine. They become friends and set the stage for intergallactic peace between their two races.
Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. star
in Wolfgang Petersen's 1985 sci-fi film.
A human pilot and a toad-like alien unite
to survive while stranded on a planet. I've
liked this film since I was a kid and this
dvd has good picture and sound, but only
the trailer and a photo gallery. I highly
recommend this sci-fi classic.
This movie is from the 80's (I think) but it is timeless. It is sci-fi, humorous, and has a deep message as well. Pure entertainment for everyone! Not a boring spot in it; a gentle, spirited, endearing story!
