Movie synopsis
In this sequel to DAREDEVIL, the Marvel Comic series is drawn upon once again to present the mysterious and powerful character of Elektra (Jennifer Garner), a professional assassin with special skills. Clad in a red suit, she relies on her mental acuity, which allows her to see a short distance into the future. With this talent she can stalk her victims and kill them before they are even aware of her presence. She is cold and introspective to a fault, shunning all human contact in favor of meditating on her powers. Even so, she is haunted by the memories of her youth, when as a small girl she witnessed her mother's brutal murder by a mysterious horned enemy. When a mission leads her to a father and daughter, Mark (Goran Visnjic) and Abby (Kirsten Prout), something deep inside her causes her to abort the assassination. But before she knows it, a team of the highly dangerous ninja experts called the Hand are sent to take out Mark and Abby themselves. The leader of the Hand, Kirigi (Will Yun Lee), has a greater objective in mind for Mark and Abby, and Elektra decides to defend the helpless twosome until she solves the mystery behind why the Hand wants them dead.Highlights of the film center on Elektra's impressive moves in her red-hot suit, flinging her Sai weapons with menacing accuracy. Plentiful action scenes and special effects certainly add some high-intrigue moments to the plot, but there is also a softer side to ELEKTRA, which is about mothers and daughters. Elektra frequently flashes back to her mother's death and her memories of youth, while in present time she is forming a bond with young Abby, providing for some tender moments.

Elektra dvd

A spin off from the movie daredevil, this follows the story of the assassin Elektra. The movie picks up after she died at the hands of bullseye. she is resurrected by her martial arts master stick who trains her in his ninja clan called the chaste, but elektra has a dark and tragic past, at a young age her dad was a bit strict raisng her and her mom was murder right in front her, which caused her father to have her train with a diffrent master each year to make sure that she wont become a victim, with only a little piece of joy happening when she met matt murdock/daredevil, but those moments of love is once again shattered when her father is killed, which she blames daredevil for not yet knowing that her true love matt murdock is behind the mask. once finally learning the truth she is confronted by her fathers true killer bullseye who stabs her fatally with her own sai. due to her tragic past, she is filled with anger , hate and deep sadness when she comes back to life. since this is not the way of sticks clan he kicks her out which also leaves her hurt. it is then implied that she had some dealings a rival clan of dark ninjas called the hand, which then she becomes a assassin for hire, a cold killer with a red outfit and deadly sais. but she is still haunted by her past and then has a sudden change of heart when she is sent to killer a young girl and her father, which reminds her so much of herself. this act of mercy leads elektra onto the road of redemption, making her see that there is still good in her heart and that she is the one that can help tip the balance between good and evil by fighting againts the dark magic weilding fighters of the evil hand ninja clan. this is a great dvd 2 disk set. filled with lots of goodies, there is a little bit of extra extened scenes in the movie that makes it better then the regular version and there is some making of features and the history of the comic book. there is also some really cool deleted scenes that should of been in the movie but its still cool to be able to see them, I think you should get this and the directors cut of daredevil so you can get the full story of who elektra is. this really is a good popcorn eating film and is not at all as bad as some stupid nip picking critics might say. If your a true fan of elektra then you should get this dvd.

Elektrafying

I saw this movie at a free preview screening. I wasn't expecting much because comic book movies are usually disappointing, but this one was actually good. The special effects and action sequences were well done and didn't look over-the-top.

The cinematography was beautiful and the colors almost seemed alive, they were so vibrant. I don't see many movies where the colors make that much of an impact.

I didn't find the dialogue corny or forced. There was only one moment where the audience laughed "inappropriately," and that was at a character's name. The acting was excellent, in my opinion. Jennifer Garner and Goran Visnjic have a natural rapport and Kirsten Prout was very impressive. I hadn't seen her in anything previously. All three of them did a good job of giving these characters some depth and making you care about them, which can sometimes be hard in this type of movie. The villains were, for the most part, subtle and not in your face, as with many movies of this genre.

Overall, I liked this movie and recommend it to anyone who likes a good action movie with non-cardboard characters. In addition to the action, there is drama, romance (but not too much), elements of sci-fi and a few laughs.

Worth every penny

If you liked DareDevil, this is so much better. The graphics are great. You tend to see previews, and thats all the action and best parts in the movie. This has so much more.

After Elektra dies, Stick brings her back and tries to teach her the arts, only for her to find out she is sent into the world on her own because she is full of too much violence. Her Ultimate test.

Now she's a professional killer hired to kill the treasure and her father...

Well, I wouldn't want to give away the whole movie. It's really great. Each time you watch it, you see something you didn't see the time before. There is very little cursing, and of course fighting, but no nudity.

Great Movie!

My wife and I are both big fans of Jennifer Garner, and love this movie. The shooting style of this movie along with the special effects are amazing. Not to mention the story line of this movie. We bought it after seeing the introduction of the Elektra character in the Daredevil movie. This dvd is well worth the money.

Elektra-Fied

Another comic book hero......no-way...this IS Elektra we're talking, she's more than a hero. There is a rich story here with a lesson in it. Jennifer Garner was spot-on for the choice. The downside is that the only real remnant of the real Elektra is the costume. The writers must've been bargaining on Garner's looks and physique to carry this one....shame on them. Jennifer is a fine actress and they should have given her a better script with some real meat.....she would have handled it perfectly.

The action sequences are awesome. The effects really add to the mystique of the story. Terrence Stamp as "Stick" goes without saying.....Terrance RULES!!!! All in all, a fine one off movie as it stands. Shame on the writers for not believing in the actors enough to write a better, more factual, representation of Elektra........Cast & Crew deserve the thumbs up for making the magic that is presented.
