| The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons. | |

It's the best RPG game out there, with the new Kinect experience coming out you can shout and command as you play along (sorry for the product placement but it's true :p ) The new un-attached skill sets allows you to switch from a thieve to a battlemage to warrior or even sorcerer along your game play, so forget about that startover. Pretty huge world with an astonishing HD landscape. The leveling difficulty is in somewhat similar to the Fallout game series (as you gain more experience the more difficult the game gets).
With the development of this unprecedented and gigantic world of Skyrim. Bethesda Studios exceeds once again RPG player's expectations by honoring game value with an unique story somewhat attached to Oblivion but free to wander at your own pace. A fresh flavor to the Elder Scroll's series I may say.
First of all this game was the best RPG to date and eventually won game of the year in several related categories. As it is this is the second copy that I own and I am eagerly waiting for Bethesda's next release. With over 300 hours so far played and still finding quests to take up my time and a total level cap of around 80+ this game is amazing for a hard core rpg player
Skyrim is possibly the greatest game ever made. The graphics are amazing and the story is awesome. It is second to none in the Fantasy RPG genre. With several missions and quests there is never a shortage of things to do. This game will not get boring after having played it for a while. It is the greatest game made so far. After over a year of being released it is still #1.
One of my favorite top 10 games of all times for sure. Its roleplaying so I already like it because of the themes and storylines and such, but on top of that the landscape is awesome and there are dragons popping up all over the place. It does have some very violent parts not appropriate for very young audiences, but I just cover my 3 year olds eyes. He loves the dragons. There is alot of talking to people and fighting dragons and other monster type beings and even a few robotic type automatons, so there is alot I can do with him to avoid some of the really violent parts. I just wait for him to go to bed to do the rest. There are hours and hours of game time. More than any final fantasy game. So, be ready to put alot of time into this game or play it periodically over a long period of time. This is not something to power through over the weekend. A+++++
I already own Skyrim on PC, but sometimes I enjoy playing the game on my TV via Xbox. It also gives me a chance to start a new character, and not be tempted to mess with things via the in-game console.
I really liked the fact that I was able to simply redeem the code and download Skyrim to my Xbox 360's hard drive. This means no disk swapping, you just launch it from the Xbox menu and you're good to go.
In terms of the quality of the game, Skyrim is widely known as one of the best Bethesda RPG's to date. It's my personal favorite RPG, and I've spent hundreds of hours in this game and still haven't gotten bored. This is really the way sandbox RPGs should be... it drops you off into the world, and the rest is up to you. There are hundreds, if not more, quests and side quests, and things to do... Just when you think you've finished everything, there's another area to explore.
My only complaints are the Microsoft exclusivity. Xbox users get all DLC before anyone else does, and this practice seems really silly. I think Bethesda is missing out on a lot of money by holding back the DLC on PC/PS3 users. But whatever, it's just business I guess.
This is an awesome RPG. Get it. Everyone should play this. It's for casual and hardcore RPG gamers alike. It's got something for everyone.
