The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Sony Playstation 3, 2011)

Simply amazing! In my opinion clearly the best in the series and my personal GOTY. The limitless freedom of exploration returns and lets you experience an unique adventure that is setting milestones in the RPG genre. You have the complete freedom in what you do, there is not even a real class you choose: You build up your complete own in the flow of the game. The huge environment invites you to explore every single part of it with beautiful landscapes, an amazing soundtrack and interesting sidequests around every corner. It has been a long time since I was this satisfied with a game.

Skyrim's combat has improved over Oblivion's, but there is no dodge or roll mechanic. And to add to that armor and block skills are hard to level up unless you are purposefully grinding them. And to add to that alchemy and enchanting are hard to level up unless you find new alchemy recipes and enchantments. So basically the skills that enhance your combat prowess(besides blacksmithing and weapon skills) are not as relevant in your playthrough unless you purposefully grind them(which is boring). The quests are quite good though in some cases repetitive. The environments are amazing and the dungeons are much more varied than in Oblivion. Also character animations and interactions with NPCs are much better. This game is very immersive but certain hard to level up skills and recurring quests take away some of the game's glamour.

In a world where fantasy becomes reality, there is one game to stand above the rest in sheer beauty and depth. Skyrim is the intended way to experience the richness of the Elder Scrolls world. With the introduction of dragons, the land becomes a dangerous place to explore. For those seeking a great adventure to immerse themselves in for a time, look no further. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim looks to be another Game of the Year from Bethesda Softworks

Before Skyrim, I never thought much of The Elder Scrolls series, considering the storylines of each of the prior installments to be drawn out, unnecessary, and tedious to complete. But Skyrim changed everything. With beautifully detailed graphics and customiseable options, Skyrim is one of those games you can full immerse yourself within and lose track of time in the real world. It will involve you so deeply, you may be wondering why "Fus Roh DAH!" won't work on your coworkers during your day job. Overall, the storyline is excellent, the sidequests are interesting and demanding pursuit, and there are SO many secrets... you just have to play to understand! If any game was worth the initial $60 on a release date, THIS is it. Buy Skyrim, gamers from all corners of the digital spectrum will appreciate it from the start.

Best PS3 game yet. Ridiculous grapghics. Best RPG! Truly a sence that this game will never end in a good way. The possibilites are like never before with fully custom made characters that can do what ever you want them to do. The back drops are like never before, this game looks like it should be on the PS4 when it comes out. If you compare this game to some of the first released games for the PS3, you will think this game is in another league for HD graphics. WOW! Simply Awesome! You won't be dissapointed.
