| Put on your sunglasses and prepare to step into the boots of Duke Nukem, whose legend has reached epic proportions in the years since his last adventure. The alien hordes are back and only Duke can save the world, again. Pig cops, alien shrink rays and enormous alien bosses won't stop our hero from accomplishing his one and only goal: to save the world, save the babes and to be a bad-ass while doing it. The King of All Shooters is back with over-the-top weapons, massive aliens and unprecedented levels of interactivity. This game puts pedal to the metal and tongue firmly in cheek, among other places. Shoot hoops, lift weights, read adult magazines, draw crude messages on whiteboards or ogle one of the many beautiful women that populate Duke’s life; that is if you can pull yourself away long enough from kicking ass and taking names. Duke Nukem was and will forever be immortalized in gaming history, and this is his legend. | |

I enjoyed the game despite previous bad reviews. I have the Xbox 360 version and for 35 bucks it's a nice buy for all here on Ebay! The graphics fit for this kind of game and it's not like the old Duke games where you just find key cards and run and gun. The aliens and pig cops in this game are no push-overs compared to old school Duke games so practice your shooting. DNF is about Bombs, Babes, Boobs, Beer, and Steroids! The game features strong over-the-top sexual humor, some puzzle solving, large scale impressive boss fights and environmental engaging like playing a pin-ball machine or driving a radio controlled truck. You can even sign a kid's autograph and tell him that you better not see it for sale here on Ebay! ...Lol ..that's real cool! ..On the downside, yeah when you die it does takes some time to load ,but not much of a distraction. ..Overall very fun game! ..All Hail the King Baby! Duke Nukem Forever!
You would think after 12 years...they would have spent more time on this game. I was not expecting much in the way of story (due to the fact that Duke Nukem is just an ass-kicking, womanizing, world acclaimed hero who gets to go on around spouting one liners and taking steroids) but you'd think they would have at least spent time on the game play itself. I'm not sure if the developers meant to leave the graphics to look like they were the birth child of the 1997 Duke Nukem 64-bit graphics, but they sure looked that way. After all is said and done, I have been a fan of the Duke Nukem series of games. Because of this, it probably made me overlook a lot of the flaws in this game. I could have gotten past all of the negatives of this game and enjoyed the bloody, expletive filled adventure if it didn't have 2-3 minute load screens every 15 minutes of game play (including a load screen after every death). I would recommend this game if you are a fan of Duke Nukem and just want to own and play the game. Other than that, it does not offer much to gamers who are unaware of its past.
Duke Nukem here is a mix between modern and old school shooting/game mechanics that actually works. The graphics are not too bad either.
The gunplay is very easy to get into however some may be turned off by no iron sights. Have not had any bugs as far as shooting goes.
The story is a standard aliens pretend to want peace and our president was dumb enough to believe them.
As far as hilarity goes there are some funny one liners however most probably come from interacting in the enviroment.
One that caught me off guard and made me laugh was when I botched up a game of pool.
I have not been able to touch the multiplayer. From what is up videowise it seems like it harkens back to the Timesplitters/Quake kind of mayhem.
Would I recommend it to everyone? No.
If you enjoy at least the shooting mechanics of Quake and Timesplitters then find this one at a markdown price and give it a try.
Hail to the King Baby!
There have been many scathing reviews about this game I want to give you my thoughts about this matter. First of all Duke Nukem Forever does not deserve all the terrible reviews it has gotten. True it has been in development for 12 years and it is still heavily flawed. There were not enough check points at crucial parts of the game so you do the same area over and over and because the load screens take such a long time around 1 minute it gets very very annoying. The other thing is when you get stuck and have no idea how to progress there are no pop up messages to tell you what to do they could have at least had Duke a line of dialogue to help you progress or a map like most games do. But these were not that big of a deal because how much fun the story was. Hilarious Duke lines, funny game play, loose but responsive controls great puzzles, very fun boss fights, a long and satisfying campaign and good story make up for it's short comings. Overall true Duke fans will look past it's flaws and love it as I did. Hail to the king lets hope we won't have to wait another 12 years for the next one.
Duke as you'd expect. There's nothing extraordinary to make the game over the top fun, but it is definitely entertaining with all the famous one-liners and features that have made me say "wow cool" on more than one occasion. worth playing.
