Product Information
This sequel to 2009's Dragon Age follows the rise of a penniless refugee named Hawke as he (or she, depending on the gender you choose when starting the game) gains fame and fortune by undertaking a number of heroic or potentially ruthless acts over the course of ten years. Scarred by the destruction of his home, Hawke will join forces with a number of colorful characters to defeat the darkspawn infesting the land. The storytelling is notable for adopting a frame narrative structure, with a narrator recounting Hawke's achievements with varying levels of authenticity.

Your decisions will ultimately help shape Hawke's future, starting with his skills as a mage, rogue, or warrior, and influence the narrator's story. Hawke can enlist the help of three companions during the game, and as in the original Dragon Age, characters will converse with each other and some can even be romanced. Additional combat mechanics have been incorporated into the battle phase, and a new visual style is included to enhance the third-person RPG's presentation. The principal setting for the game is Kirkwall, a region surrounded by mountains and home to corrupt politics, shantytowns, and other surprises.

    not like the original

    Dragon Age 2 is not Dragon Age. It seems like an obvious truism, but given the backlash Bioware's sequel has suffered.in doing something so dramatically different, Bioware has inadvertently given other developers and publishers all the reason in the world to keep their top franchises safe and stale.Where the original game had locations all over an entire nation to explore and slaughter, Dragon Age 2 focuses in on a single city.There's nothing wrong with this — indeed, urban fantasy is a genre long underdeveloped in video games, and Bioware was brave to take a crack at it with a very valuable IP. In the main, it works — the city of Kirkwall is vibrant with plenty of intrigue. There are enough plot twists and turns to keep driving you through the story, and the side stories are an interesting bunch. Combat is vastly improved, with a far more dynamic and customisable system than previously. This time around there's a greater range of skills and abilities that are genuinely useful.
    To be fair there are signs that the team at Bioware laboured over a tight production time line — there's a few too many assets that are reused a few too many times for an RPG's own good — and about halfway through you're going to realise the reason the game is set inside a city is because featuring too many other locations would have blown out the development time.

    But that's not much to complain about. Dragon Age 2 remains a mature, challenging, modern RPG. It's unfortunate that should there be a Dragon Age 3 Bioware will now be discouraged from trying to do something different.

    A++++++!!!!!

    Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

    Like many people, I moved to a new place after college. I didn't know a soul in New York City or how to get around, and just buying groceries was an impossible task. By the time I left ten years later, I knew that town like nobody's business. I wasn't anyone special, but if you dropped me anywhere in the five boroughs, I could tell you a memory, which corner to avoid, and where to get a slice - the kind of familiarity you only get after exploring a location until it feels like home. That's what Kirkwall will feel like after playing Dragon Age II.

    Worth playing, but only for about seven bucks.

    Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

    Honesty is the best policy, and honestly the only reason I ever bought this game was to romance Anders. That being said, the story isn't an epic - but it is still enjoyable. The combat system isn't the worst I've ever played but it is far from the best as well. The scene settings are dull and repetitive and the game itself is glitchy as all get out. There will be several missions made completely unplayable by glitches, but for me it didn't impede the main story line so it wasn't a huge issue. What really makes this game worth playing is your party members and the dlc. The characters, most particularly your party members, are interesting and have really fantastic interactions both among themselves and with the PC. The dlc made for this game is easily some of the best dlc Bioware has made, in my opinion.

    All in all, this game is worth playing if you don't rage too hard about glitches but don't buy it new.

    If you owned the first one, you need to buy this one.

    Good game but too short. I like the original games format better. Rpg on the last one was more entertaining. This one has improved game play, and is fun.

    Flawless. The game has provided hours of seamless entertainment. Thanks!

    Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

    I enjoyed the first Dragon Age a great deal for PS3 and read a lot about the improvements being made on the second installment. The battle mechanics were different, there was a new storyline, and the general fun of the game play of Dragon Age: Origins was everywhere in this game. However, I knew that the retail stores would keep this game at $60 for quite some time, and being the bargain hunter that I am, I decided to let my friends from Ebay offer me a better deal. Low and behold, I got the game for a lot less and gave an individual some cash, rather than the big name chains. Great experience, and rewarding too, for all.
