I have read almost all of Jonathan and Faye Kellerman's books. I especially like Faye Kellerman's Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus series. This book is two stories in one. The first takes place in Boston with two detectives trying to prove who killed a promising young college hoops player. He was shot in a club and the detectives are fairly certain they know who fired the shots. The resolution left me a little disappointed in the justice system but it was probably realistic. At least the Kellermans are superb in their creation of characters and that’s evident in this first story.
The second takes place in Santa Fe and again the two lead detectives are interesting. The story is more of a whodunit. If one of the Kellermans writes it, I enjoy it but I don’t think this is the best work of either of them.
This collaboration between Faye and Jonathan Kellerman was well written. Both stories were moderately intriguing. Character development is well done but I felt that in, "The Land of Giants" portrayal of Boston, as a city, was lacking. Light reading that's fast paced and unpredictable. A fun read.
I enjoy reading Mystery/Murder Mystery books and the price was right. This was a two for one book with both stories in the same hardback. The stories weren't too long and the suspense was wonderful. I enjoyed the book very much. I'm glad I can find interesting books on E-bay and Half.com. If the price is really low, I donate the books to my library's Student Book Club for resale.
Faye & Johnathan Kellerman are two of my favorite authors and this book is a product of them. There are two stories and they are both great, like any of their other books. They were short stories, but they got to the point and were very interesting.
