Best season yet, and in HD to boot

The best season yet in the new series. Finally a lot of questions are answered that were raised during previous seasons. I didn't get to see the season before it came out and seeing it in full HD sure does justice to all the details you just have to see.
The Blu-ray box set is well put together, with 3-4 episodes per disc and most of the extras on disc 6. I remember sitting on the edge of my seat several times during episodes, especially the "season opener". Too bad that British seasons are so much shorter than American seasons, but at least Doctor Who does not quit after only a few seasons and keeps chugging along. I have been a fan since the early 1970's and have seen all the doctors in action.
I enjoyed all the extras as well, the Dr. Who Confidentials, the video diaries, etc, so I would say that this was a good buy. I just wish more seasons were available in this format, especially the "new" seasons since they were already shot in widescreen.

While Matt Smith isn't my favorite doctor he does an exceptinal job playing the doctor in this series. The writtig for these episode is amazing and I really hope they keep it up in the 7th series

Mr. Smith goes to Washington

I was so looking forward to seeing this season since so much of a full season was shot in US for the 1st time. My cable TV won't show BBC america.

I'm a Patrick Troughton fan. My dad like most American's is a Tom Baker fan. The special effects are better than the old days. But, the special effects get lost on a 4:3 CRT TV. Haven't seen a panscan setting on the DVDs yet...

You just shouldn't EVER be so very critical of Doctor Who, because, after all, we want the Whoniverse to go on FOREVER!

I didn't like Matt Smith at first but he has made a great Doctor! And his companions, Rory and Amy, are great in their own right!

I had bought the digital version through Amazon.com but What if the power goes out or you are on the road? The laptop can play for a few hours. A hard copy is just a thing to have for just such situations.
