Product Information
Long ago the Dark Knight Sparda rebelled against the dark emperor and waged a one-man war to save humanity. Thousands of years later, a religious organization worships this renowned savior and has taken it upon themselves to rid the world of all evil. Residing in Fortuna, this organization is known as the "Order of the Sword," and is made up of an elite group of "Holy Knights." One day a young knight named Nero witnesses Sparda’s legendary son Dante slaughter his fellow warriors. Has the renowned devil hunter turned his back on mankind? What does this encounter mean for these two individuals?

In Devil May Cry 4, players control the formidable Nero who comes to grips with his newly found power as his beliefs and allegiance are tested. Continuing the legacy of fast paced action synonymous with the series, Devil May Cry 4 pushes the envelope of excellence even further with the inclusion of a new combat system that incorporates Nero’s "Devil Bringer." This new feature has players delivering overwhelming damage to enemies with non-stop combos, while gaining new power for Nero’s right arm. With the PlayStation 3 system's advanced graphical capabilities, high definition visuals and intricate detail come to life as players explore new and exotic locales. Amazing visual effects and dynamic action coupled with a complex storyline, provides the very cool, slick and stylish attitude that only a Devil May Cry game can deliver.

How many times can the devil cry??

Ahh finally #4 decides to come out...and on multi-platform which was the best thing that could happen to the 360(since Halo 3 and COD:4).The visuals on this game were great..well great for me because I have HD so maybe that's why they came out even more. There's nothing new about this series compared to the rest if you played them on the PS2.New bosses and a new character is how I saw it.

You start off as loud mouth Nero who can never seem to keep his mouth shut when it comes to approaching new bosses. His new weapons and ability skills are great to experience in the game...but just like the other Devil May Cry games the attack buttons get repetitive. You would think he's this tuff cocky demon who wouldn't care about anyone, except for his love for Kyrie. That's when he becomes a baby...that's when you become Dante halfway through the game once Nero gets caught, but I won't give too much info out, might be a spoiler.

Dante's new weapons we're cool but he has different styles that you can change by hitting the directional pad up,down, left,or right...which made fighting demons a whole lot different and somewhat complicated. He has a little more to choose from then Nero, but the main focus is Nero.

The bad thing I would have to give this game is the fact that you fight the main bosses about 3 times...which starts to get boring even after fighting them once. You basically move forward halfway through the game with Nero...then backtrack to the begining with Dante...except for the last boss which is for Nero to defeat. The other thing I would say that wasn't so great was the mission count...really 20 missions?? Most of it was just to retrace your steps and recycle all the same bosses...I mean really Capcom why disappoint with #4 when #1 and #3 had great action...eventually it's like playing #2 on one disk instead of 2.

Now unlocking the new modes is what gives it it's replay value. The Son of Sparta mode and Dante Must Die is what keeps this game in my 360...that and unlocking the achievements. There's also a couple new modes Heaven and Hell, and Bloody Palace. It's basically new stuff to keep you in tuned with the game if you decide to continue playing. Will there be a Devil May Cry 5?? and if so will it be Nero?? or back to Dante?? or even another new character?? I don't know...but how long will this devil cry??

    My personal favorite

Devil May Cry 4 is an amazing game. It's the kind of game that isn't necessarily easy, but can be toned down if you need it to be, thus accommodating any type of player. DMC4 has excellent replay value in this aspect also, as you can play it on harder difficulties. Not only that, but it offers to those who seek it, a challenge of skill and ability as a player, in that, with the rating system, one can seek to improve his or her own personal best, or with enough ambition, best the top rated players in the world. Personally, I am enjoying playing the game through on all difficulties, as well as going back and bettering my scores on each mission, striving to improve my own skills and become a better player, an aspect that you don't find too often in games these days. Needless to say, Devil May Cry 4 is fun, challenging, and re-playable (over and over again). I play this game 90% of the time (and I own titles like Gears of War 1 and 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Eternal Sonata, Rainbox Six Vegas, etc.) I even went out and bought a used PS2 so I could play Devil May Cry 3.

A great, and difficult, action game!

Having played this game when it first came out, i decided to pick it up again.
The fourth installment of the Devil May Cry Series, and the first one on a non-Sony console, is a great game thatll keep you entertained for a while.
Dante returns, albeit not at first. Instead, you play through the first few missions as newcomer Nero, who, while similar in style, plays completely different than our favorite Devil Hunter. The missions are fun, and tend to be quite difficult, especially in some of the un-lockable difficulty's later on, and youll fight a handful of big menacing Boss Devils. The only con i had with this game, is that at one point in the story, your forced to replay the same exact levels again.

    devil may cry series

i am an avid fan of the devil may cry series and i need to complet my collection. Devil May Cry 4 is the fourth installment of the Devil May Cry series.meplay in Devil May Cry 4 is similar to previous games in the series. The player must fight through levels called "missions", occasionally solving puzzles or gathering items. Performance in a mission is graded from D being the bottom grade through C, B, A, and S being the highest grade. Grades are based on items used, Red Orbs gathered, time taken, and the amount of Style Points accumulated. Each Style Point grade has its own tag-word. For example, the SSS grade shows up as "Smokin' Sick Style" on the side of the screen when achieved. Stylish combat is the main focus of the game, which is conveyed through unbroken combos of varied attacks while avoiding damage. The player must avoid enemy attacks to continue performing combos, often by memorizing attack patterns.
