The Dell Streak offers an unprecedented combination of processor power, screen size, and design quality. Support for 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth hit all the wireless sweet spots, while photo, camcorder, and calling capabilities blur the boundaries between tablet and phone.
Battery life isn't great, the touch-screen keyboard is awkward, music quality is below average, and the position of the camera tends to cloud photos and video.
The Dell Streak is the first Android tablet worth taking seriously, though its size puts it on the fence between tablets and smartphones.

I've been looking for this size of a tablet device for some time already and this is the only one available. For me this form factor is just right, the screen is big enough for internet browsing and videos and the device can still be used as a phone. Android 2.2 works fine and snappy and the Stage UI is very handy.
Been using this for two days now and haven't found anything to complain about.. well, the camera could be better but that is not is big a deal for me.
The net browsing was surprisingly good, the Streak is even faster than Galaxy Tab. The flash content works also well. Music is very important for me and the Streak didn't let me down with that. With Power Amp player the sound is dynamic and rich through bluetooth to my Sony bt headphones.
I totally recommend the Dell Streak.
I am really into this Dell Streak right now. Its screen is large enough to feel comfortable reading various kinds of pages, its performance is super smooth, the connection speed is amazing and it just feels right to hold a Dell Streak in your hand. Not to mention the app market for this one. I have various needs and this phone is the perfect fit for me.
And it is the pure awesomeness when you take it out of your pocket and let your peers shower it with compliments that just make everyday your day.
Bottom line first: It's a good purchase for 450$ as of Nov 2010
Engineering compromises come at a cost so it's a big and cumbersome phone and a too small tablet, But both devices are functioning properly in one small package.
The screen is a fingerprints trap but doesn't scratch (Gorilla glass I guess)and the battery lasts only several hours with full use of Wifi, bluetooth, 3G end everything but gets reloaded in minutes via the USB 30 pin cable.
Speaker is very load and good but the handset's voice had medium quality.
Camera is much worst then my Nokia E72, although it's a 5M as well.
Sensors are very good, GPS is quick to relocate. Bluetooth stack is vary fast ans so is touchscreen reaction time.
Dell Home screen application is buggy and if you outlast the battery and the phone shuts itself, you have to reset the battery (pull it out and replace it) so you can operate the phone again.
All in all minor nuisances and a pleasure to use.
this phone was truly ahead of its time sad dell stop making it spec was great at the time os was sad but 2.2 upgrade was great size great speed good pic and video good to view should have had a 8mp camera but 5 will get by BIG IS BETTER 5 INCH SCREEN SUPER BY THE WAY THIS PHO IS A FULL TABLET AND PHONE DELL DID A GOOD JOB NEED TO BRING IT BACK WITH BETTER SPECS IT WILL DESTROY THE COMPETITION STREAK 7 GOES NICE WITH THIS PHONE ALL IN ALL GREAT JOB DELL BY THE WAY MY REVIEW IS BY A SMARTPHONE JUNKIE I HAVE OWNED THE NOKIA N-8 HDC 7 DROID X AND X2 GALAXY S2 BY SPRINT S0 THAT ALONE MAKES MY REVIEW BETTER THEN THE AVERAGE VIEW U SEE ON ANY PHONES!!! I just switched from the iPhone 3G to this and WOW what a difference... also my wife has the iPhone 4 and I still find the Dell streak much easier to use (once you set it up that is). The phone came unlocked so all I had to do was put it my sim card and voila. At first I wasn't going to root the phone as it operated very smoothly and FAST, then it seemed to start lagging after about a week or so of operation but still fast, so I decided to root it and it is now operating smoother and faster than I ever thought a hand held device could operate. The android OS is very easy to use and give many options to the used to set things up the way they like it but you do have to have a "geek gene" in you to figure some of the stuff out. So far the only downfall to this phone is its size (my buddies say I look like I'm talking into a boot), I personally don't mind it so far but this is because I still wear my pants and jacket, I have no idea where I'm going to fit this behemoth of a machine when summer time arrives!!!
The screen is super sharp and the touch screen is very responsive... I love everything about it so far, my wife keeps saying "get off the phone"... it wasn't till I explained to her that this really isn't a phone... It's a tablet with a phone option in it... that she understood. I haven't had any use for my laptop since I got this phone, it does it all and, did I mention, FAST. I no longer use my laptop to surf the net, I use the streak.
